2022-23 Safety Action Plan

1. Proxi Pen Guard tour installed at Central Office and to be


installed at all high schools for active patrol of buildings
2. DPS/SPD Collaboration for Special Patrol Officers (SPOs)
to supplement safety at K-8, Middle Schools and support
for elementary schools Update-Mtg on 07/19/22 w/SPD
3. Addition of 40 School Sentry Positions to provide extra
support to all schools Update-Screening in progress
4. Testing of new metal detection technology to improve
weapons screening Update-Mtg rescheduled to 08/22
5. Procurement of additional baggage scanners and metal
detection equipment for K-8 and middle schools

6. Security Operations Center- Capability to monitor and respond to
potential safety threats with real time data
7. Stop the Bleed Training-Coordination with Health Services
Department to facilitate training for sentries (staff) ASAP
8. Target Hardening- to assess all school’s entry locations with focus
on improving safety while maintaining accessibility
9. Security Cameras- Active management and installation of
additional cameras as requested to improve safety
10. Enhance staff training offerings and support building level safety
teams
