1. Describe the different common internet privacy issues.

1. Tracking
When you browse the Internet, you may have noticed those pesky ads following you
where you go based on your earlier web searches or visits to websites. Well, that’s
because websites, advertisers, etc. track your movements.
Cookie profiling and other techniques are used to track your overall activities online and
create a detailed profile of your browsing habits. Some people may not mind having
relevant ads being served up to them, but this is a serious invasion of privacy for others.

2. Surveillance
Some governments spy on their citizens online to supposedly assist law enforcement
agencies. For instance, the UK’s Investigatory Powers Act authorizes mass surveillance
and allows the government to monitor the Internet usage of its citizens legally. Internet
companies (ISPs), telcos, and other communication service providers are required to
retain customers’ Internet connection records for a year, which can be obtained by
government authorities and used in investigations – even if you’re not related to them in
any way!

3. Theft
A staggering 17 million Americans were affected by identity theft in 2017, according to
Javelin Strategy. Cybercriminals use malware, spyware, and phishing techniques to break
into your online accounts or device and steal your personal information to engage in
identity theft activities.
Of course, the victims end up losing most or all of their hard-earned money just because
they didn’t exercise caution when it comes to opening attachments, instant messages, or
emails from unknown sources.
2. Apply intellectual property law concept in their daily lives.
In our modern world, intellectual property enhances every aspect of our lives. Every day we
come in contact with products that have protected IP. It rewards innovators for turning ideas,
from a better cup of coffee to a more energy efficient car, into the technologies that sustain and
enhance our world.
Intellectual property (IP) is one of the key drivers of our world. It enhances our lives, grows our
economies and sustains our world by ensuring new, high-quality innovations are continually
developed across society. Everyone from a researcher in a laboratory to the innovator dreaming
up the next big invention in his garage uses IP to advance their work.
Intellectual property protection is critical to fostering innovation. Without protection of ideas,
businesses and individuals would not reap the full benefits of their inventions and would focus
less on research and development. Similarly, artists would not be fully compensated for their
creations and cultural vitality would suffer as a result.
3. Evaluate one case study related to Latest Privacy.
Information privacy is one of the most significant ethical issues of the information age.
The advance of ICT has fostered free flow of information which has led to increasingly
serious information security problem. Prior organization-level research has investigated
the management of privacy concerns to avoid damage to firms and organizations. Few
studies focus on the firm's responsibility to safeguard information when facing changes in
the institutional environment. Through an interpretative case study, this research analyzes
the actors and issues that have appeared throughout the process of data protection
legislation in Taiwan. The findings suggest that the data protection policy making in
Taiwan has taken a parental pragmatic approach, leading to the ongoing hand in hand
relationship between government and market. Online social norm view, technological
view and information ethics view have been oversighted in the policy making process.
