Identify and cite an example about the different benefits of computer networks.

Benefits of Computer Network

Can you imagine a world without online shopping, Online Newspapers, Emails, Blogs, social
media, and the other services offered by the internet which is also called inter-network? To know
what are the Benefits of Computer Network keep reading this article till the end. The internet has
grown vastly over the years with people and businesses using it more and more for basic and
essential needs. Nowadays it is easier for homes to find a variety of network providers,
like xfinity internet, that can offer them a safe and reliable connection wherever they are.
Before knowing the Benefits of Computer Network, you need to have a clear understanding of
what is Computer Networking? A computer network can be defined as two or more than two
computers are connected to share information and resources and these computer networks can be
set up by the network or IT admins.

 File sharing
It provides access to digital media, such as a computer, programs, electronic book or documents.
Common methods of storage and transmission include manual sharing utilizing removable
media, centralized servers on computer networks.

 Application sharing
It enables two or more users to access a shared application or software over the network with the
help of the client/server application.

 Hardware sharing
In hardware, sharing users can access hardware devices like Printer, Hard disk, Ram, etc. with
the help centralized computer or device
 User Communication:
Networks allow users to communicate using e-mail, newsgroups, and video conferencing, etc.

 Network Gaming
A user can get the Advantage of gaming over the network as it also provides network gaming
where two or more users can play a game from a different location.
 Voice over/IP
Voice over Internet Protocol (IP) is a revolutionary change in telecommunication that allows to
send telephone calls (voice data) using standard Internet Protocol (IP) rather than by traditional
PSTN.
 Time
It reduces the time of sending any information anywhere in the world as it delivered the
information faster than any physical transportation.
 Distance
We can send any information across the world even you are sitting at a place in the world just
you need a network and this enables you to send any information anywhere in the world.

 Cost
It is very cheaper than the physical transportation of any information but with the help of the
internet, it can be transmitted in a very small amount.

These were the Advantages of Computer Network, except it, there are also much more things
which I have mentioned below.

Differentiate between a computer network and network topologies.

To me a “computer network” is more the design for communication and making sure that the
specs for each device on the network can function appropriately and give your network its
desired functionalities and support what you need it to support.

A “network topology” is as a topology is described which is an arrangement of all of your

network components, this is all to do with the structure both physical and logical.

A network topology is the arrangement of a network, including its nodes and connecting lines,
two ways of define network geometry one is physical topology and the other one is logical
topology. The main widely use typologies are star, bus, ring.

A computer network is a set of computers connected together for the purpose of sharing data or
communication. The widely use communication source is internet, where are all are
connected. LAN WAN are also the type of CN*.

Illustrate with labels and describe the following network topology.

There are several different logical and physical network topologies from which administrators
can choose to build a secure, robust, and easily maintainable topology. The most popular
configurations include:
 Bus network topology -- Also known as backbone network topology, this configuration
connects all devices to a main cable via drop lines. The advantages of bus network
topology lie in its simplicity, as there is less cable required than in alternative topologies,
which makes for easy installation.
 Mesh network topology -- A dedicated point-to-point link connects each device on the
network to another device on the network, only carrying data between two devices.
 Ring network topology -- Two dedicated point-to-point links connect a device to the two
devices located on either side of it, creating a ring of devices through which data is
forwarded via repeaters until it reaches the target device.
 Star network topology -- The most common network topology, star topology connects
each device in the network to a central hub. Devices can only communicate with each
other indirectly through the central hub.
 Hybrid network topology -- Any combination of two or more topologies is a hybrid
topology.
 Tree network topology -- This topology consists of a parent-child hierarchy in which star
networks are interconnected via bus networks. Nodes branch out linearly from one root
node, and two connected nodes only share one mutual connection.
