Visual privacy is an essential consideration in the design, architecture, landscape, and interior design,
especially in Arab or Islamic cultures. And the majority of Arab houses take this approach to design. For
example, in our home, we have various items to ensure the existence of privacy. For example, at the
house's edges, we have a wall extension (fig1) to ensure that the corridors are not exposed. There are also
tall plants (fig2) at the entrance and along one of the corridors to give the yard more privacy and ensure
that the house is not visible from the neighboring houses. Furthermore, the house windows are covered
with a ribbon, which prevents outsiders (in the yard) from seeing people inside the house; however, anyone
inside the house can see what's outside. And these things and points are related to both design and culture.
