Performance Task
No. 1

A. The difference between a relation and a function is that a relation can have
multiple outputs for a single input, whereas a function only has one input and
one output.
B. If each input value results in only one output value, the relation is classified
as a function. If any input value results in two or more outputs, the relation is
not a function.
C. Evaluating a function entails replacing the function's variable, in this case x,
with a value from the function's domain and computing the results.
D.
-We can add two functions as (f + g) (x) = f(x) + g(x)
-We can subtract two function as (f - g) (x) = f(x) - g(x)
-We can multiply two functions as (f • g) (x) = f(x) • g(x)
-We can divide two functions as (f/g) (x) = f(x)/g(x)

From the activities...

I learned that relation is defined as a set of

ordered pairs in which no two or more distinct
ordered pairs have the same first element.
I realized that relations depict a relationship
between two values, whereas functions depict
meaningful relationships.
I wished that I would be able to apply this lesson
in the future.
