A dish, for a wish foundation

Majo: Our organization works for the feeding of children who do not have the necessary
resources to access this service. Our organization wants children to eat for free through
community food trucks located throughout the country. These will have the necessary
elements to be able to feed the largest number of children. In addition, our foundation has the
purpose of educating children about the importance of healthy eating, which will help their
development. Children are our main group to benefit. Since we noticed that child
malnutrition is one of the biggest problems in Ecuador, we knew that this problem needs
support and importance. According to research from UNICEF in 2018 Ecuador is the second
country with highest levels of malnutrition in Latin-America.
Ari: The people who our project wants to benefit are the kids who live in these
circumstances, because eating is the base of life. If we don’t have healthy nutrition we can be
exposed to many problems related to health. Kids will have the opportunity to eat three meals
per day. This will help their development as kids in many aspects and specially improving
their quality of life.

Majo: The benefits of our Foundation are many. What we are going to do is help a lot of kids
in Ecuador who don't have so much food to eat, and this way we will be fighting malnutrition
in our country. We want to improve the lifestyle of our future generations, and with our
project, we want to help them in some way, even with little steps related to their health and
nutrition.
Ari: Having a Foundation focused on this topic will benefit those little kids in the long-term,
because they will have less diseases along their life. Also, this will be beneficial for them in
many other areas of their lives because we all know that it all depends on how we eat; our
attitude depends on that, our performance and more.

Esteban: Our organization is going to be funded by different investors, and the money is
going to be used for different activities and purposes . We will have two ways to earn money,
which are unicorn investors and people who want to help us. Although it is an NGO, we need
administrative staff to help us with the money, communication and problems management ,
so we are going to hire an accountant, an administrative manager, communication manager
and finally a financial manager. “A Wish for a Dish Foundation '' focuses on Ecuadorian
child malnutrition, so food is very important for our community, but the investments are
going to solve this problem. We are calm, because we already have a structure for the
financial part.
As we expect to help more than 50.000 children due 2023, we are going to feed 600 kids each
day, so we will need just $3600 every day in food, $1000 spend in gas, then we have to
include salaries which are $7000 every month . Our principal goal is to be a BINGO (Big
International NGO), and to achieve it we need to be known around the world by millions of
people, we also have to work together as a team, we have to do our job well, then we will
have more investor and money for helping more malnourished children. By September 2023
we expect to have helped more than 50.000 children, have gotten more than 20.000 followers
on instagram and have got more than $300.000 from our investors.

Mateo: Well, we have been thinking about it, and the principal regret is that we haven't had
good communication at the beginning of the project, but now we are totally communicated.
We learned that working in groups means doing something little to complete something big.
It means, every work and contribution of each member of the group is as important as the
other members. We decided to join forces because we recognized we have different skills to
contribute to the group. Each member shows different ideas to give more options and to give
more solutions. Even though we all have different personalities and preferences, for example;
Majo studies International Relations, Ariel Business administration, Ari , Mateo and Esteban
Marketing, we all want to “Help others”.
The behavior of the group was cool. It means, they were so comprehensive and collaborative
with me and the rest of the members. Also, they contribute with ideas and opinions which
were useful to concrete the project.
Ariel: Talking about our spending habits, we don’t like to spend a lot. We are responsible
with money and we like to save for the things that we really need, but we also like sharing
and helping others, in that case we spend a lot of money. We are going to earn a lot of money
with our NGO, so we must be responsible with that and not be corrupt.
Mateo: Actually, we don't regret anything related to our past jobs. Not all of us have worked
before, but we think that each experience is going to be important to be a good professional
and person, so working in a NGO has been the best decision of our lives.
Esteban: Sometimes the group is stressful and communication is not the best, although we
have decided to continue working together, because we have great respect for each other and
the fact that everyone is respectful is the basis for creating a great work environment.
