A Sad Day for Tim

Tim was sad today.

It was 2 o’clock. He came home after school and ran up into his
room. This was unusual behaviour for Tim!

He did not speak to his mother. He did not eat. He was worried and he just wanted
to be left alone.

Tim’s mother went into his room. She sat by the side of his bed. She waited for a
moment. Then, she felt his head and asked him what was troubling him.

Tim did not want to talk. He just looked at her. He could not tell his mother that his
class teacher, Ms. Kanthi beat him today. Tim immediately thought of Ms. Mayuri,
his beloved teacher of the year before. She was so kind!

Tim cried. He told his mother that he did not want to go to school the next day.
He asked her if he could stay at home.

Mother looked surprised! Tim always liked going to school. She knew something
was wrong. She just hugged him. She knew that he would feel better.
