NARRATIVE REPORT ON BRIGADA ESKWELA

St. John Elementary School and its stakeholders actively participated

with the program. Brigada Eskwela for school year 2022-2023, I joined
brigada eskwela dated August 2, 9-12, 2022, with the theme” Tugon sa
hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral.
In the morning of the 2nd day of the month of August embarks the
beginning of the school year 2022-2023. Today is the 2 nd day of the national kick-off
of the Brigada Eskwela with theme: “Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral”. We
are very enthusiastic to join Brigada Eskwela event by creating a tarpapel and
pasting it on our stage and prepared the necessary tools for the brigada. We then
used our school speaker as an announcement for the Brigada Eskwela, morning
from afternoon, we turned it into the highest volume so that the whole community
would be able to hear the school announcement.
We tap our supportive and generous parents to help us in beautifying the
school. Also, the SK of barangay Puntod, have their voting in school and we then
ask them to help us.
The day ended tiring yet fulfilling, all plans that has been lined up were met.

Stakeholders cleaned the surroundings of the school and mostly sweeping the
dried leaves, wiping the classroom windows, sweeping, mopping, and waxing the
classroom floors and cleaning the whole school perimeters.

Volunteers and parents of the enrollees came and continued doing ordinary
labor works during the day. Mostly, they cleaned the school campus by sweeping the
front ground and the stage area.

Volunteers and parents of the enrollees came to have their children enrolled
and helped in preparing the classroom and maintaining the cleanliness of the school
perimeters for the upcoming opening of class. The father of a kinder pupil helped in
assembling and installing the wall fan in my classroom and Mrs. Oliveros cleaned
and trimmed down the plants in the plant box. and continued doing ordinary labor
works during the day. Mostly, they cleaned the school campus by sweeping the front
ground, the stage area and the plant box near the lavatory. Some of the parents will
come back tomorrow and do brigade since their children’s class advisers are not
around. It was indeed a productive day, and the grade 5 classroom is almost ready
for the opening of class.

I called my grade 5- parents to help me in setting up our classroom, getting

the stored boxes out so that we will have more space for the desks. The volunteers
wiped out dust from the windows, walls and waxing the floor, cleaning the comfort
room and sweeping the outside area of our classroom. Only few parents came that
day since some of them are working.

Teachers and volunteers made final cleaning inside their classrooms by

dusting, wiping tables/chairs, and applying floor wax to have a shiny floor. Arranging
the tables and chairs, cleaning outside each classroom. Since I am the feeding
coordinator, I have plenty of boxes inside my classroom so I asked my parents help
to organize and transfer the unnecessary things to the stockroom so that we will
have more space for the children when the opening of class came. I am so thankful
for the extended help from my parents for I won’t be able to do it by myself.

Teachers arrived in school very early for we are very excited for the days
event. One of our stakeholders Avon Multipurpose Cooperative came by the school
to give school supplies to the lower learners from Kinder to grade 3. Many learners
came by and very much excited to receive the supplies for them to use on the
opening of class. I was tasked to be the emcee of the event. After the turnover
ceremony of the school supplies many parents visited the school to join our brigade
eskwela and asked for certificate of enrollment as one of the requirements in DSWD
education assistance.

Many volunteers also came to help us prepare our school for the opening of
class on the 22nd of August 2022.

Almost all teachers reported to the school for the opening of class is fast
approaching and we are not yet done in cleaning, arranging, and setting up our
classrooms. We asked the parents who came by to enroll their children to help us in
cleaning thoroughly the whole school campus. We prepared not just our classrooms
but as well as the outside perimeters of the school. Each classroom are on its final
polishing in setting up the whole space. The whole week turned out successful even
if it is so tiring. But its all worth it… Most of us are very much excited for the opening
of class.

Barangay Puntod council donated paints for our school’s beautification in

preparation for the full blast school implementation. For us to beautify our school our
school principal Ma’am Abuel together with the teacher’s decided to schedule it on a
weekend to repaint and repair the areas that are needed to maintain.
We tapped the parents of our dear pupils to help us in doing so. Many of the
parents came by and helped us teachers. We cleaned and repainted our school
gate, the ceiling of our stage, the fence on the exit gate, the tables, desks,
armchairs, comfort room doors as well as the classrooms ceilings and door. We also
have fathers volunteered to check the wall fan’s if it is safe to use.
Our Brigada Eskwela was a success, what we have planned to do on that day
was achieved. We are all happy with the outcome. We are so grateful for the Puntod
Barangay Council for the paints that they have donated. Our school looks like a
brand-new school. We were so eager to see the faces of our dear learners seeing
the brand-new painted desks and armchairs.
