is understood today.
In the 21th century, the social responsibility managed to generate a competitive position for companies,
because this approach within business management helped strengthen the role of the company in
society and aligns it with social and environmental needs. The investment in social aspects by the
companies, generated a strengthening of competitiveness, and achieved an active relationship between
the company and the community, concentrated various interest groups of the company with the
collaborators and their families, a decent quality of life was sought, a sable job and with possibilities of
personal, professional and family development, for society, which increased the social, cultural and
economic heritage, likewise, it contributed to a healthy environment, and there must also be
transparency and ethical principles with respect to the government. This stage was very important,
because transparency, accountability, ethical behaviour, respect for human rights, respect for equality
and respect for the interests of the stakeholders were taken into account, and determined these six
principles as pillars of social responsibility, which every company has had from this approach, giving a
transparent image and generating good corporate governance. Within this context, the so called
strategic social responsibility emerged, and it was considered that through the use of social responsibility
mechanisms, the competitiveness of the company in the market was improved, and the relationship with
the community and groups of interest, and above all a direct benefit was obtained from that relationship.

A clear example was that of the Nestle company, which decided to invest in India, this company instilled
the culture of obtaining cow and goat milk. To do this, he built irrigation canals for free and thus the
water reached the crops, where the food for cows grew. Then he motivated the villagers and they sold
them the milk they obtained from their cows, but at the same time he sent them a special unit, which
was in charge of the health of the cows totally free. Although the process was long and tedious, today
India is one of the largest producers of milk for Nestle in the world.
