1. MODEM – A network device which converts analog telephone signals from the Internet service provider (ISP) to
Digital Signals containing the Internet connectivity protocols.
2. ROUTER – A network device which is used to manage IP addresses of network devices by a function called Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). With this, the router can assign unique dynamic IP addresses to connected network
devices like computers, mobiles devices, access points, etc.
3. ETHERNET SWITCH /HUB: This network device is used as hub or bridge to create multiple access or connections to the
network. The switch reproduces the digital signals being sent by the network devices in the network.
4. WIRELESS ACCESS POINT: A wireless network device used to add wireless access capability to a network. Usually used
as Wifi extender to expand wireless network access of computers and mobile devices.
5. NETWORK INTERFACE CARD: A network device consisting of an RJ45 port card installed or built in the motherboard
which is used to add network capability to computers. Without this, the computer cannot connect to the network.
