Far Eastern University is a top notch institution that has just recently

implemented the Student-centered learning program. This basically means that

students are more hands on in taking in information in classes instead of being spoon
fed. This helps us to become more practical thinkers, and store the information in our
long-term memories instead of just word vomiting in tests and examinations. It took
quite a while for me to get used to it because of the difference between Senior High
School programs, and the specialized classes in college. This type of learning best
benefits people like me who want to explore learning in the best ways possible, more
efficiently and effectively.

Student-centered learning allows students to choose two things: what they learn
and how they learn it. (This idea is also known as customized learning.) Unlike teacher-
centered methods, SCL involves students as leaders and decision-makers in their own
learning. Teachers and students collaborate to co-create a learning plan or route that
best meets the requirements of each individual learner in a truly student-centered
learning environment. In a student-centered learning environment, the instructor
contributes to the creation of an environment that is tailored to each student's specific
learning needs. The instructor is the designer of each student's learning experience.

True student-centered learning necessitates are more than simply a boost in

technology adoption. It signifies a transition in educational culture toward a system that
promotes technology for standards-based learning and problem solving in the real
world. Educators may more effectively use technology to improve learning outcomes
and assist students acquire skills for college and career preparedness when a system
shifts to a student-centered approach.
When students take responsibility for their own learning, they transform into
explorers who can use their curiosity to tackle real-world challenges. To that aim, the
ISTE Standards direct instructors in creating learning experiences that promote student
autonomy and lifetime learning. Technology enables new levels of individualized
learning, as well as great chances to monitor progress and engagement, track student
thinking, and digitally test capabilities. When schools properly integrate technology and
pedagogy, both students and instructors have the ability to make decisions about their
own learning and instruction. Because of the benefits it provides for students, more
schools are adopting a SCL strategy. Student-centered learning relies on students'
intuitive awareness of what they need from their education, resulting in meaningful
learning settings where students are engaged and motivated, according to studies.

Best way to go about this is when you may not grasp an idea well enough if you
can't readily convey it to someone else. According to studies, the average individual
recalls 90% of what they learn when they teach it or immediately put it into practice.
You'll rapidly see your areas of weakness while teaching or applying an idea. Reread
the content until you are certain that you can convey it to someone else. Your mind is
more focused at particular times of the day, and this varies from person to person.
Understanding when you are most aware will assist you in determining the best times to
study. Most key, schedule a study period when you can concentrate and recall your
material the best. Don't study while you're tired or distracted since you're more likely to
squander time than learn anything.
