About Your Guitar

A cigar box guitar is not a toy. It is a serious musical instrument. Cigar box guitars are used by
many professional musicians and preferred by many folk artists.

Your guitar was made from a wooden (not paper) cigar box to help insure the best possible
sound quality. It has a built-in acoustic pickup, so it can be plugged in to any amplifier without
modification or additional hardware.
Tuning
If you are new to cigar box guitars, you might be wondering about your tuning
options. The guitar is shipped with the strings loosened to help prevent it from
being damaged. You tuning options depend on whether you have a three-string or
four-string guitar. The most common tuning options are listed below:

Three-String  Standard
o A-D-0-B
 Standard
 Standard Bass
o D-G-B
o E-A-D-G
 Open G
 Ukulele Style

For strumming and chords. an open tuning is often the easiest tuning option. If you
already play guitar, you may find the standard or standard bass tuning the most
comfortable.
NOTE: The open G tuning is the standard blues tuning and
considered the default tuning for a cigar box guitar.
