I. Objectives of the Study

Project Objectives

The aim of the work is to state the different objectives of the project that will help

the designer address the design problem of the Proposed Retreat Complex. The

specific project objectives are:

 To formulate a solution that will highlight the view around the site.

 To develop a space that will contribute to the users on finding for solitude,

relaxation and area for recollection.

 To introduce an innovative tourist destination.

Design Objective

The study's goal is to provide a target for what the Proposed Retreat Complex

should accomplish. The design objectives will guide you through the design process

and help you track your progress. The specific design objectives are:

 To design a structure that will maximize the space for recollection.

 To design a structure that is eco-friendly and naturally sustainable.

 To design a structure that will promote an aesthetically pleasing landscape.

Design Concept

Biophilic design is an architectural concept that aims to bring building inhabitants

closer to nature. Natural lighting and ventilation, natural landscape features, and other

components are used in biophilic designed buildings to provide a more productive and

healthier constructed environment for humans. The users will benefit greatly from

biophilic design in terms of relaxation and reflection, and the Proposed Retreat Complex

will be developed in a sustainable manner.

II. User’s Demography

The target users of the Proposed Retreat Complex do not have fixed geographic

borders. It refers to the people who will be the eventual target users of the proposed

project. It is essential to establish a means of determining the users of the project in

order to monitor the types of people who enter and access the service within the site.

Primary Users

The primary target users of the project are the students in a tertiary school. This

will include those Public and Private Universities and Colleges located within the

Province of Batangas.

According to Finduniversity.ph list, the Province of Batangas has forty-three (43)

Public and Private Universities and Colleges, including branches of the province's most

well-known Universities.

Secondary Users

The secondary target users of the project are the small companies with 30-50

personnel.

According to Businesslist.ph's "Companies in Batangas" category, the province

of Batangas has 1,461 fully operating businesses.

Tertiary Users

The tertiary target users of the project were the local tourists. This will include

delegates of the government and community on a municipal or provincial level of the

Province of Batangas.

According to the 2015 Census, the age

group 5 to 9 has the most people in Batangas,

with 267,393 people. The age group with the

smallest population, however, is 80 and up,

with 24,609 people.

When all age categories are included,

those aged 14 and under, which include

infants/babies, children, and young

adolescents/teenagers, account for 29.82

percent of the young dependant population

(803,396). The economically active population

and existing or potential members of the work

force, generally those aged 15 to 64, account

for 64.97 percent of the population (1,750,563).

Finally, the elderly dependent population, which

includes individuals aged 65 and up, accounts

for 5.21 percent of the total population

 According to the calculated Age Dependency Ratios, there are 46 youth

dependents for every 100 working-age people in Batangas; 8 elderly/senior citizens for

every 100 working-age people; and 54 dependents (young and old) for every 100

working-age people in Batangas.

The median age of the Batangas population is 25, which means that half of the

population is under 25 and the other half is over 25.

Batangas' population increased by 2,650,779 individuals during the span of 117

years, from 257,715 in 1903 to 2,908,494 in 2020. From the previous population of

2,694,335 in 2015, the newest census numbers in 2020 show a positive growth rate of

1.62 percent, or an increase of 214,159 individuals.
