First Part. Answer clear and neatly in a paragraph style.

a. What means Deductive and Inductive method? (10 points)

 Deductive method it is a way of reasoning and explaining reality based on
general laws or theories towards particular cases.

 Inductive method is a way of reasoning based on a series of particular

observations that allow the production of general laws and conclusions.

b. Answer investigation: (20 points)

• Type of investigation (3)
• Theoretical research
objective is the generation of knowledge, regardless of its practical
application. In this case, data collection is used to generate new general
concepts.
Applied research
In this case, the goal is to find strategies that can be used to address a
specific problem.
Exploratory investigation
It is used when the objective is to make a first approximation to an
unknown matter or one that has not been sufficiently investigated.

• Which is the roll of investigation

The main purposes of research are to inform action, gather evidence for
theories, and contribute to developing knowledge in a field of study.

c. Vocabulary. What is: (20 points)

• Variable :A variable in research simply refers to a person, place, thing, or
phenomenon that you are trying to measure in some way.
• Hypothesis A hypothesis states your predictions about what your research
will find. It is a tentative answer to your research question that has not
yet been tested.
• Close question is a question that could be answered with a one-word
answer or a simple "yes" or "no." In research, a closed-ended question
refers to any question in which participants are provided with options to
choose a response from.
• Open question are questions that allow someone to give a free-form
answer. Closed-ended questions can be answered with “Yes” or “No,” or
they have a limited set of possible answers
d. Which is the difference between: (10 points)
• Quantitative investigation is the process of collecting and analyzing
numerical data. It can be used to find patterns and averages, make
predictions, test causal relationships, and generalize results to wider
populations.
• Qualitative investigation involves collecting and analyzing non-numerical
data to understand concepts, opinions, or experiences. It can be used to
gather in-depth insights into a problem or generate new ideas for
research.
e. Explain one theoretical research method (10 points)

Historical method It is linked to the knowledge of the different stages of the

objects in their chronological succession, to know the evolution and development
of the research object or phenomenon, it becomes necessary to reveal its history,
the main stages of its development and the connections fundamental historical.
Through the historical method, the concrete trajectory of the theory is analyzed,
its conditioning to the different periods of history. Methods logical are based on
the historical study revealing the logic of development, of its theory and finds the
deepest knowledge of this, of its essence. The logical structure of the object
implies its modeling.

Second Part: Think about a problem to investigate in your classroom or University. (write
it) (30 points)

The transportation system of CRUBA

a. Make five hypotheses

 not enough drivers
 gasoline is not available
 some mechanical problem
 there is not enough money
 vehicle mismanagement
b. Five open questions and five close questions

Open question

o What is transportation problem?

o What would be the reason why there are not many drivers?
o How does the university transportation system work?
o Will there be a financial problem?
o Are there problems with the vehicle?

Close question
 Is there any driver?
 Are there buses?
 Are they drivers available?
 Do students use the transportation system?
 Does the driver is friendly?
