Question#1:

Critique the equity issues in the field of education. Suggest the solution to deal with such issues.

First of all we have to come to know what the meaning of equity is in education system. The concept
"equity" denotes to justice and fairness, as opposed to equality: Whereas equality implies delivering the
same to all, equity is admitting that we do not all originate out of the same point and therefore must
recognize and correct inequalities.

Furthermore we are going to critically discuss the equity issues in the education A quotation of
American politician is quoted here he said, "The problem with our education system is not that parents do
not have a choice. The problem is that inequities continue to exist”. There are many issues in educational
equity that are present in our society. Some of the issues are as follows.
1. Income

The most visible big equity challenge in schools is economic disparities. If parents want their
children to succeed, they should be rich enough to afford an education that produces such
results. Despite our best efforts, it remains true: less money may mean a lower chance of
obtaining a higher education, less chances, and a lower possibility for success. This concept
implies that not everyone is given a fair chance to learn. Not everyone is given equal
consideration. The quality of education depends on level of income.

2. Gender

While long forgotten, the conflict between women's social rights and those of males, a gender
imbalance, persists in institutions. This believes that men are still preferred to educate and be
educated since there are still people who genuinely believe that women are intended to be
housewives, to compromise for being at home, to not struggle for their liberties and learn
themselves. This, however, is not how affairs should be. Women should be treated similarly
with males, and learning, along with schools, should be gender-neutral. One factor for low
female enrollment is that families do not want to send their daughters to schools where the
instructors are still not female.

3. Health
Mental functions such as attention and memory retention might be affected if the environment
lacked sufficient quality air. Poor ventilation and temperature can also have an impact on your
education. Students that consume more protein do high on average assessments. Iron content of
hemoglobin in red blood cells; having less iron means having less energy and thus being unable
to obtain a decent education.

4. Poverty
Poverty is another barrier to equity vs. equality in education. Sixty percent of the poor children
come from low-income families or areas. It can be challenging to give appropriate resources to
these youngsters since their families or schools may have very limited budgets. Furthermore,
these underserved regions frequently struggle to retain teachers who can make a real difference:
62 % institutions report difficulty retaining high-quality instructors. Poverty has a variety of
effects on student performance. Poverty is caused by a number of things. After all, eating is a
key consideration. Level of emotional assistance, tension, and distress also make it difficult to
learn. Health issues should be tackled.

5. Silent Exclusion
Children who come to class but acquire nothing are instances of silent exclusion. Poverty impact
on the students who learn nothing in addition to those who drop out. They are at risk of
dropping out. These kids are not regular attendees; they have a low attendance rate. They are
also repeaters. They will fail. They are then low performers. They receive poor grades.

6. School equipments
Many educational institutes is that there are no Another issue that is present in proper
equipments are available for students specially in public sector school that is really bad .The
educational infrastructure with respect to science labs and computer labs is still in very bad
situation.

Solution to deal with equity issues

 If we wish to control poverty by stopping poor children from becoming poor, we must

do it through learning, resources, and employment. It is stated that unless you are born

poor, that is not your fault, however if you remain poor, it is your failure.

 There are many equity challenges in schools today, and it should end unless the poison

comes from the medium that is expected to nurture it, there is no hope for future

because, as we stated, tomorrow begins with the present generation.

 There will be equity if all children were given these benefits, regardless of source. Only

then can all children receive a more equitable education.

 Motivate the child to remain in the school and be successful.

 Establish inclusive environment in the class

 Equity can also improve children' health care and social development.
 Need to avoid gender discrimination and raise voice for it and also provide better

opportunities for girls in urban as well as rural areas.

 Establish cooperative environment for all students it will help them to maintain their

mental effectiveness and confidence.

Question#2:

Describe the role of conflict resolution in the smooth functioning of an educational institute.

There is always the possibility of conflict when huge groups of people congregate in the same
place. Different people have conflicting needs and interests, which leads to conflict. It is
extremely vital for schools to teach pupils excellent conflict resolution skills in order to prevent
possible difficulties caused by these competing interests.

Conflict resolution in education

Conflict resolution education is focused and specific instruction on how to resolve differences
peacefully, control human emotions, and divertive situations without turning to violence.
Students and teachers both require this type of education to reduce the difficulties of meeting in
a compact location with so many diverse personalities attempting to get along. Individuals
interact in the teaching and learning process to achieve academic goals within schools; as a
result, disputes within schools can occur for a variety of reasons.

To better understand the school's duties to individuals or teachers and role of conflict resolution,
consider some of the smooth functioning of an educational institute.

Classroom Environment

Certain student defiant actions in the classroom and, by extending, the school polling station
may be accepted, while others are and will remain intolerable, such as fighting in the classroom,
answering phone calls in the classroom during the middle of a lesson, mistreating and
physiologically confronting the teacher, trying to steal, to name a few. Although such conflict-
inducing events may be considered an inevitable element of any educational system, the
teacher's responsibility in minimizing or even enhancing their incidences, particularly those seen
to be factional, remains crucial.

Teacher’s role

When we talk about conflict resolution in school and the teacher's role, we simply mean the
answers that the teacher uses in order to manage with the conditions that can impede the
accomplishment of the school's overall goal and the particular educational and/or behavioral
class lesson target.

Enhance Students' Social and Emotional Development

One of the fundamental functions of education is the social and emotional growth of children.
Schools educate children how to communicate with others who are not family members.
Because effective conflict resolution would not be a part of some students' home lives, they are
still unable to develop practices that will assist them in peacefully resolving a crisis. Schools
serve as a model for appropriate social and emotional connections with others, particularly when
such behaviour is not represented at home.

Reduces number of violent incidents

Approximately four out of every five teachers report incidences of aggressive abuse from
students and coworkers. But with proper management and conflict resolution this type of
incidents now reduces and controlled.

Learning environment that is productive

Conflict resolution training in the curriculum also contributes to a more productive learning
environment by enabling students and teachers to think conceptually about how to connect with
others more calmly. This type of education can activate higher level thinking skills and improve
moral reasoning capacity.

Safe Learning Environment

It is vital to create a comfortable learning environment for children in order to have a functioning
school. Students who are not comfortable in the classroom seem unable to focus and concentrate.
Conflict resolution training for school staff and kids can have them for the skills they need to
keep the school a positive learning environment for all. Students can prosper in their school set-
ting when they feel safe.
