Part III - Making Personal Vision

A. Preliminaries

Objective: Differentiate Vision and Mission

Vision: Defines how an organization or enterprise will look in the future. It is a long-term view,
sometimes describing how the organization would like the world to be in which it operates.

A Vision statement outlines what the organization wants to be or how it wants the world in
which it operates to be. It concentrates on the future, a source of inspiration, and provides clear
decision-making criteria.

For example, a charity working with the poor might have a vision statement that reads

"A World without Poverty."

Mission: Defines the fundamental purpose of an organization or an enterprise, succinctly
describing why it exists and what it does to achieve its Vision.

A Mission statement tells you the fundamental purpose of the organization. It defines the
customer and the critical processes. It informs you of the desired level of performance.

B. Materials Needed

a. Microsoft Word, Image Editing Software, or any office application

b. Internet Connection/ Web Browser
c. Pieces of colored pictures or images from online sites, magazines, or colored newspapers
(pictures that capture your passion, interests, or those that can be associated with you).
d. Collect and paste (use) these images for this purpose.
e. See Evaluation at the Bottom for Grade Rubrics.

C. Instructions

1. Create a Personal Vision about yourself.

a. How do you imagine yourself years from now?
(Use the cut pictures to depict your personal Vision.)
2. Using your collected images/pictures, paste them into your office application. Design
pictures that closely resemble your future life. (You may use any image editing tool for
your design concepts)
3. Make a vision statement at the bottom of the depicted image you created (an illustration of
your personal Vision) and explain it.
4. Define atleast three (3) mission statements from that Vision you have created.
5. Submit the outcome of your Personal Vision.
