ENDURO CABLE
T R AY S Y S T E M S
Enduro Systems, Inc. is the world’s leader in fiberglass cable
tray and related products. This catalog includes the products,
accessories and engineering data required to design and install
a complete non-metallic cable tray system.
The main components of the cable tray are produced utilizing the pultrusion
process. Over twenty years ago, Enduro Systems, Inc. invested in its first
pultrusion equipment. This was necessary to reduce costs and perfect the
components for optimum cable tray performance.
As the technology improved, and the demand for fiberglass cable trays increased,
Enduro Systems, Inc. became a major manufacturer in the world wide cable
tray market. The optimization of the fiberglass cable tray components provided
Enduro with technology which developed into custom shapes.
Today, Enduro is recognized as one of the leaders in the pultrusion industry with
multiple production lines in operation and more planned.
In addition to pultrusion, Enduro’s capabilities include compression molding and
resin transfer molding. These processes provide in-house production capabilities
for all of the components in the cable tray system. The full radius one-piece mold-
ed fitting with its light weight and
smooth side walls has been universally
accepted as the best cable tray fitting.
Enduro Fiberglass Systems’ engineers
and technical staff have implemented
comprehensive SQC/SPC programs to
continually provide the best possible
products for our customers. They also
have incorporated computer aided
design systems to analyze structural and
mechanical characteristics of the cable
tray system.
The manufacturing, fabrication, engineering and sales personnel at Enduro are
all committed to the common goal of providing our customers with the highest
quality, most cost effective non-metallic cable tray in the world.

WORKING (Allowable) LOAD CAPACITY Table 1

REFERENCE: NEMA FG-1 (current issue)

The working (allowable) load capacity represents the ability of a fiberglass cable tray to support the static weight of cables.
It is equivalent to the destruction load capacity, as determined by testing in accordance with paragraph 4.1, with a minimum safety
factor of 1.5.

CORROSION RESISTANCE OF RESIN SYSTEMS Table 6

Two standard composite resin systems are available. For most applications, isophthalic polyester fire-retardant (FR–P) is the more
widely used. A vinyl ester composite fire-retardant resin system (FR–VE) is recommended where strong acids (such as hydrochloric
acid), strong alkalies (such as caustic soda), organic solvents and halogenated organic conditions exist. An abbreviated Guide is
provided below to assist in the selection of the proper resin system for individual application.
All composite material has an ultra-violet light inhibiting chemical additive and has a maximum flame spread of 25 or less, per
ASTM E-84 (Class 1 flame spread). All pultruded products have complete Nexus Veil Coverage (outer surfacing fabric) to provide
maximum chemical and UV protection.

STRAIGHT SECTION COVERS

Cable tray covers are recommended for those areas where the cable needs protection from falling objects, adverse weather
conditions, etc. Available in polyester and vinyl ester resin types in 10 Ft. (3m) sections in both flat and peaked design.
When ordering flat cover for fittings, refer to pages 18 and 21. If vinyl ester is requested, substitute “V” for “P” as in the following
example: EVC-06 x10'. If Low Smoke / Non-Toxic Resin is requested, substitute “Y” for “P” in the following example: EYC-06-04.
In addition to cover, solid bottom also available. See page 28 for cover accessories. S

For Hanging System Installation

Typical Hanging Support System
The optimum method of installation for a hanger system is to fin-

installation procedure whenever possible. This results in mini-
mum torque and allows maximum thread shear. Threaded Rod

Enduro Third Rail FRP Non-Conductive Coverboard

Enduro’s Third Rail Coverboard Systems are custom designed to provide safety by shielding
or insulating personnel from a rail that is “live”or may contain stray currents. Enduro coverboards
are made of high performance, lightweight pultruded composites which, if necessary, can allow
personnel or riders to more safely exit in an emergency. Enduro has exceeded the most stringent
of transportation safety tests utilizing our Low Smoke / Non-Toxic resin technology that provides
the highly desired low smoke development and low smoke toxicity characteristics preferred by
transportation safety authorities.
Enduro coverboard products have been utilized by multiple transit authorities, domestically and
internationally, and are specifically designed to meet each customer’s special requirements. Please
contact Enduro to find out more about our products, and how we can help you develop a new or
improved design to fit your needs.
