How to participate in TCS iON IntelliGem 2022-23?

TCS iON IntelliGem is a national-level contest on 21st Century Skills for the students of Grades 5
to 9. These skills are:

Universal Values
Developing the skill to understand and appreciate the feelings, experiences and ideas of
others.
Global Citizenship
Recognizing the fact that all human beings, no matter where they live or which nation they
are citizens of, inhabit the same world.
Communication Skills
The ability to convey ideas effectively and convincingly to one or more people.
Creativity & Innovation
The ability to observe problems and then create solutions. It is also the skill of being able
to produce new and unique ideas.
Financial Literacy
Being able to manage, despite all its complexity, financial matters at a personal and
community level.

These are the five topics for TCS iON IntelliGem contest.

By participating in TCS iON IntelliGem, students will be able to:

- Explore the increasingly important 21st Century competencies

- Develop a passion and love for lifelong learning, and early entrepreneurship
- Build a competitive spirit and prepare themselves to lead the world
- Continuously augment their knowledge to go beyond what is possible

Step 1: School registers

A student can register for the contest only if the school in which the student is currently studying
registers for the contest. Hence, to enable student registrations the school must register first.

a. School Registration form:

- Visit intelligem.tcsion.com.
- Under the ‘Are you a School?’ section, click on ‘REGISTER HERE’ button.
- A form will open. Read the instructions before filling the form.
- Enter the school details asked in the form and click ‘Submit’.
- Upon successful form submission:
o A unique School ID (numeric) will be generated for the school. This
School ID will serve as a unique identification number for the school
throughout the contest. The School ID will be available in the school’s
login post registration and will also be sent via the registered email and
SMS.
o A new tab called ‘Information’ gets enabled which has ready-to-use
communication templates for email, SMS and WhatsApp that can be
shared with students and parents’ community.
o The school’s login is created which can be accessed during the contest
via intelligem.tcsion.com > ‘Are you a School?’ section > ‘Already
Registered? Login Here’ link.

b. Communication of School ID with students and parents:

- The school needs to share this School ID with its students to enable them to
register for the contest.
- Students can then register themselves with this School ID; select the topic(s) they
want to compete in and make payment to participate.

c. If a School had registered for TCS iON IntelliGem 2020-21 or 2021-22:

- The school need not register their details again with us.
- Visit intelligem.tcsion.com > ‘Are you a School?’ section > ‘Already Registered?
Login Here’ link, login using their existing School ID/password.

 - Your school will be default registered and considered for participation in TCS iON
IntelliGem 2022-23. Your students can use your IntelliGem ‘School ID’ and
participate in the contest.
- The school will be able to edit the IntelliGem Coordinator details using the edit
option. For any other update, please write to us at info.tcsionhub@tcs.com
- Submit the form to update the edited details.

Step 2: Student registers

a. Sign Up:
- Visit intelligem.tcsion.com.
- Click on ‘REGISTER HERE’ button.
- Fill up the ‘Sign up’ form:
o Enter the details like Full Name, Email ID, etc. of the student.
o Click on ‘Sign Up’ button.

Note for parents:

Since TCS iON IntelliGem contest is for students of grades 5 to 9, it is important to note
the following points:
- An email ID is necessary to register for TCS iON IntelliGem as it acts as the Login
ID to access the TCS iON Digital Learning Hub platform which houses fun-filled
learning and assessments for TCS iON IntelliGem contest.
- All communications related to the contest will be sent to this email ID.
- In case where students do not have an email ID, parents can facilitate student’s
access to the platform and subsequent engagements/communications through an
email ID created and monitored by the parent.

b. Login:
- Visit intelligem.tcsion.com.
- Click on:
o ‘Login’ on the top right corner of the page; OR
o ‘Are you a Student?’ section > Already Registered? Login Here’ link and
then click on ‘Sign In’ button below ‘Already have an account?’.
- Enter the ‘Email ID’ and ‘Password’, and click on ‘Login’ button.

 c. Application Form:
- Click on ‘Purchase Topic(s)’ button OR Scroll to the ‘TCS iON IntelliGem Topics’
section on the page.
- Click on ‘Fill Application Form’ button.
- A form will open. Read the instructions before filling the ‘Application Form’.
- Use the School ID shared by your school; search your school and verify details.
- Enter the details asked in the form and click ‘Submit’.

d. If a student had registered for the TCS iON IntelliGem 2020-21 or 2021-22:
- The student need not register their details again with us.
- Ensure that your school has confirmed participation for the current year.
- Visit intelligem.tcsion.com.
- Click on:
o ‘Login’ on the top right corner of the page; OR
o ‘Are you a Student?’ section > ‘Already Registered? Login Here’ link and
then click on ‘Sign In’ button below ‘Already have an account?’.
- Enter the ‘Email ID’ and ‘Password’, and click on ‘Login’ button.
- Click on ‘Purchase Topic(s)’ button OR Scroll to the ‘TCS iON IntelliGem Topics’
section on the page.
- Click on ‘View Application Form’ button.
- Click on ‘I wish to participate in TCS iON IntelliGem 2022-23’
- Verify school details. If there is a change in your school details, please write to us
at info.tcsionhub@tcs.com.
- Select current Grade; edit applicable fields in the form and click ‘Submit’.

Step 3: Student purchases topic(s)

a. Select Topics
- Upon successful submission of the application form, choose one or more of the
five topics: Universal Values, Global Citizenship, Communication Skills, Creativity &
Innovation, and Financial Literacy.
- Click on ‘Pay’ button.
b. Make payment
- Clicking on ‘Pay’ starts the guided payment process.

 - Completion of the payment confirms the student’s participation in TCS iON
IntelliGem 2022-23

Step 4: Student starts learning

- Upon successful completion of payment, a confirmation email is sent to the

registered email ID.
- If not logged into the platform:
o Visit intelligem.tcsion.com.
o Click on:
▪ ‘Login’ on the top right corner of the page; OR
▪ ‘Are you a Student?’ section > Already Registered? Login Here’ link
and then click on ‘Sign In’ button below ‘Already have an account?’.
▪ Enter the ‘Email ID’ and ‘Password’, and click on ‘Login’ button.
- Upon successful login, you can click on the link under ‘My Products’ (in ‘My
Dashboard’ screen) to access the grade community to start fun-filled learning.

Step 5: Student gears up for the contest

- The TCS iON IntelliGem 2022-23 Contest will be held in 3 stages – Qualifying
Round, Pre-Finals and the Grand Finale.

o Stage 1: Qualifying Round
Aimed at evaluating a student’s understanding and knowledge of their
topic(s), the Qualifying Round comprises two online assessments. Students
will have to mandatorily take both the assessments as each assessment
carries a weightage. Based on their performance in these assessments,
students will move on to the next stage. In Qualifying Round, students will
be evaluated at their grade-topic level.

 o Stage 2: Pre-Finals
After the Qualifying Round, top students from every grade-topic will be
selected for the Pre-Finals. In this stage, a panel of experts will evaluate a
student’s skill demonstration/performance across their topic(s) in an
audio/visual, activity-based interview. In Pre-Finals, students will be
evaluated at their grade-topic level.

o Stage 3: Grand Finale

Based on their performance in the Pre-Finals, the top two students for every
grade-topic will be selected to participate in the Grand Finale. In this stage,
students will be evaluated by a Jury in a face-to-face, activity-based contest.
For every topic, the top performer will be chosen as the Winner of TCS iON
IntelliGem 2022-23 across two categories – Junior (grades 5 and 6) and
Senior (grades 7, 8 and 9).
- Registered students will receive communication regarding these stages during the
contest.
