ABSTRACT

Title : Pangasinan Culture Awareness of Social Studies Students

in Pangasinan State University San Carlos Campus

The study intended to determine the level of Pangasinan Culture

Awareness of Social Studies Students in Pangasinan State University San

Carlos Campus. The researchers used descriptive design of research in this

study. To gather the data, the researchers utilized a survey questionnaire in the

form of checklist which was designed in two-folds. The first part was the

respondents’ profile and the second part dealt with the respondents’ awareness

of the Pangasinan culture.

Findings of the study showed that majority of the respondents were female

who belonged to the age bracket of 17-19 years old.

As to the level of awareness of the respondents about the culture of

Pangasinan, it exemplified that they were aware in terms of Pangasinan

customs/ traditions and Pangasinan languages and literature. While they need

more knowledge about the Pangasinan local dances.

Based on the data gathered and analyzed, the respondents were aware of

the Pangasinan culture which indicates that even they were aware of it, there

were still information needed for them to become highly aware of their native

culture. As an output, the Pangasinan Culture Awareness booklet was made

suited for the improvement of their awareness Pangasinan culture.
