1.

Make the following observations and write your notes on your journal:
a. Describe what you saw last night in the sky: What did you see?
Maybe you could watch the moon. What phase could you see? What
stars could you see? Did you identify any constellation, planet or
galaxy?

I could see the moon in a waning crescent phase.

b. Go outside the classroom, look up to the sky. Describe the

landscape you are watching. What do you see? What kind of flora
and fauna is around you? What is the season of the year? What
position does the Sun have? What else can you see in the sky? Make
all the notes you need for describing your observations.

I can see El Cerro de la Silla with a lot of trees and a lot of color green there. Is fall season.
The sky has a lot of clouds, and it looks beautiful.

2. Take pictures of the sky during the day and night and put them in your journal.

3. Make a comparative chart with your notes done during the day and night and
conclude about the importance of the Sun, the Moon in our planet.

Sun: it helps to regulate de temperature

Moon: it cause tides

Light Dark
Warm
Sunny Stars
Cloudy
Hot Kinda cold
windy
4. Consider the following situation:

Imagine that you are astronauts that about to depart to an interstellar mission. You are in
Cape Canaveral on a spaceship that will take you beyond the Milky Way. You are excited
and anxious about what you are going to see out there. In order to calm down yourself
you start a logbook.
The activity consists in filling out that logbook with what would you see from that
spaceship. What do you see from Cape Canaveral? What can you observe when taking off,
from the atmosphere or beyond it? Describe all images since then and during your trip.
Use images to put on your logbook as a scrap book.

I can see the darkness of the space but also the stars and galaxies make it a bit lighter, everything
is so beautiful but a bit scary, there’s nobody but me here, I can see the planets, the sun and the
moon, they are majestic, I can watch them for hours, I don’t know what time is it but I like to being
in here. The colors of the space are so beautiful, I wake up and a combination of black, blue, green,
purple and pink comes through the window with the light of the sun, the moon, the stars and
galaxies, its quite silent right here but I like it.
