Survey summary Report

Upon conducting survey at the 4th Floor of the BE building, our group had found several
defects of the building, that are identified as risk and hazard. Upon approaching the
entrance, we had found out that there are lots of broken outlets in the building. The
comfort rooms in the building are composed of wooden materials and there is also a
burned wire in the Women’s comfort room at the entrance of the library. In addition,
some of the lights specially in the library area are improperly installed. Also, some parts
of the library have several cracks on the wall, that is why we concluded that the BE
building is not earthquake proof. Moreover, we also notice that the wirings at the first
hall of the library are either not arrange properly, improperly wired together, or coming
out of the ceiling. Furthermore, our group also notice that the ceilings in both first and
second hall of the library are broken and rusty. At the third hall of the library, broken tiles
and floor are noticeable. Lastly at the Fourth hall of the library at the computer
laboratory the computer parts are improperly arrange and there are leak marks on the
wall.
Recommendation

After we have done our survey at the fourth floor and record all the risk and hazards of
the building, we have concluded that the fourth floor BE building is not earthquake and
fireproof because some of the walls of the building is either cracked or made of wooden
materials. Moreover, our group recommend that the school authority should fix their
wirings because it may cause fire, or some students may be electrocuted. In addition,
we also recommend that the broken ceilings should be fix because they just not destroy
the image of the library, but it can also cause leakage. Lastly, we recommend that the
computer parts at the computer laboratory will be arrange properly for the comfort of the
students. If these risk and hazards are ignored by the school authority, it can cause
harm to the students who daily visit the library.
