SUMMARY SURVERY ON OUTSIDE OF THE BE BUILDING OF UNIVERSITY OF

MINDANAO

Me and my partner has been assigned to survey the outside of the building in
University of Mindanao which is the BE Building.

We noticed that there are several things that should be replaced. One of this are the
pipe that connects the wiring of electricity. Some electricity wirings are exposed and
some outlets are unclean. Many windows of the building are either broken and won’t
function. Laboratory oxygen/gas are also expose the weather and extreme
temperature. Furthermore, ceiling and walls are broken and have cracks in them.

RECOMMENDATION

Due to the building being old. It needs more maintenance for the safety of the
students as well as the staffs of the University. Wirings that are exposed should have
a good precaution on them by putting winding lines that can cover them. This also
prevents electrical malfunction such as fire and other dangerous things. Some
outlets especially those outlets that is used for ceiling fans are not cleaned properly.
Rust and cobwebs may damage the wirings and may impact the increase in the
electrical bills. Some windows are not functioning and some are broken this should
be focused on as it is for the safety of the students who used the building. Since BE
building is also known for having occupying laboratories. We noticed that oxygen
tanks that connects from this laboratory are exposed to the weather. We recommend
that it will be placed properly with a balanced stall and even a cover for safety
purposes of the students. (4th) floor of the BE building we noticed that there are holes
and cracks that is why we recommend that the affected area should be replaced and
renovated.

This is also a precaution for all the students that goes to the library in the building
during the earthquake. If this will not be noticed and changed there’s a possibility of
accident or getting hurt by this hazards.
