SUBJECT: Application for Study Permit

Dear Sir/Madam,

Micheal Faraday once said " Who would not have laughed at if he said in 1880
that metals could be extracted from their ores by electricity or that portraits could
be drawn by chemistry," commenting on Becquerel's voltaic process for extracting
metals somehow relates to my ambition of setting up an automobile company fully
powered by renewable sources in Nepal as at present seems impossible. Turning
this to reality with a core understanding of concepts of automobiles, renewable
energy sources, CIM and hydrogen fuel cell, I solely believe the Memorial
University of Newfoundland could be a perfect destination.

Introducing myself, I am Nikesh Bhandari, second born to my parents, Mr.

Pitambar Bhandari and Mrs. Chandrakala Bhandari on December 24, 1994. As of
academics, I secured my School Leaving Certificate from South Point Awasiya
MV with 76.80% having a maximum of 86 out of 100 in science, the subject that
did interest me during my schooling. Pursuing my interest in Science, I completed
my high schooling from Trinity International College with a major in Science
securing 64.80%. The hint of depth of physics along with its relation to automobile
potentiated my passion towards Car, ending me up into Mechanical Engineering
after a year gap. With success, I completed my undergraduate course in
Mechanical Engineering from Kathmandu University with a CGPA of 2.55 in the
year?
Throughout my undergraduate degree Subjects like Manufacturing Process,
Mechtronics, Mechanical Engineering Design, Control System Engineering,
Renewable Energy, Machine Design etc. enhanced my knowledge conceptually
towards the vast sector Machines. Also, during these four years, the main projects I
worked on were Study and Fabrication of V-Twin Engine, Design and
Development of Mechanical Grass Cutter for Elephant Grass, Design, Fabrication
and Testing of Hydraulic Single Axis PV Tracker System and Development of
Modular Car for Rural Purpose which incorporated a small degree of practical
exposure. Courses such as MATLAB, AUTOCAD highlighted the necessity of
modern technical software in human work.

High interest of automobile drove me towards United Traders Syndicate Pvt. Ltd.
where I am at present understanding the technical and theoretical concept of
machinery and electronic components implemented in vehicles. Being a sole
distributor of Toyota, which is best known for its high technical mechanical and
electronic components for finest driving experience has definitely provided me to
know my knowable stable in the field of automobiles. Allocation of work as per
the type of technical problem within a level of technical expertise possessed by
workers is my foremost work. Secondly, guiding and supervising technicians'
works during diagnosing the problems in vehicles. This work is providing me
greater exposure to tackle the possible problem during operation of an engine.

Wish for continuity to study and achieve knowledge sufficient to face challenges in
the coming future, I planned to carry out my graduate studies. Additionally, the
practical exposure in working place portrayed my level of understanding only as a
basic where further polishing seems must. Subsequently, I planned for Masters in
Mechanical Engineering major focus on manufacturing, mechatronics with major
technical advances, dynamics study and conceptual design. Researching on
universities, I stumbled on Memorial University where I figured out courses along
with professors with mutual research interest.

The Masters in engineering course I got selected revolves around: Theory and
Design of Mechanical Components and Structures, Modeling and Simulation of
Dynamic System, Dynamics, Mechanism and Machines, Mechanical Components
Design and Mechatronics under the supervision of Dr. Fasial Khan. Dr. Khan's
area of expertise includes Green Engineering, Mineral Processing, Offshore and
marine safety, Safety and Risk. Amongst green engineering, focusing on design,
sustainable use of eco-friendly processes and products and reducing risk to human
health and the environment without losing economic viability and efficiency,
correlated to my interest on renewable energy sources.

Foremost, Memorial University of Newfoundland is a renowned university in

Canada for its excellence in academics, research, and faculties. Quality education
with cut edge technological research attracted it over other universities. Besides,
moderate living and education expenses potentiated my choice towards Memorial.
My tuition fees are CAD $ 9,666 for two years. My estimated living
accommodation cost is CAD $ 28,582 and CAD $ 3824 as other expenses,
reaching a sum total of CAD $42,072 for two years. Among this, I got luckier to
get a scholarship of amount CAD $ 9500 per year reducing my expenses burden to
amount CAD $ 23,072 for two years.

(is scholarship amount correct?)

At this point, I would like to clarify you that my parents will be supporting my
financial expenses from their earnings. The total annual income of my sponsors is
CAD$ 29,907 and a property worth CAD$ 237,934. Furthermore, additional
education loan worth around CAD$ 40,000 is taken from Nepal SBI Bank. As a
proof to my financial credential, I have attached annual income verification, audit
report, bank balance certificates and affidavit of support of my sponsors.
Therefore, I am confident that I will not have any financial issues during my stay.

(have u included house rent and all additional income as mentioned in explanation
letter?)

Canada at present is a leading choice of destination for post-secondary educations.

Overall expenses for study in Canada are affordable in comparison to universities'
in Australia or USA. Also, Canada has diversity within the people. In simple rough
math calculation, one in every 4 Canadian citizens has origin from other countries.
This help in creating higher mutual understanding among the people. Besides, in
terms of social security, Canada is comparatively a safer destination.

The rate of changes in innovation and technology in the world is rampant while
Nepal still lacks basic approaches to the best out of our resources. In a developing
country like Nepal, very limited people have abundant expertise in mechatronics
and automobile. And, rare few who actually got exposure to it in the real world.

The government has just initiated focusing on improvising sectors of industries,

hydropower, and transportation creating demands for high-quality mechanical
engineers. Tax-deduction policies by the government for the establishment of
industries are sure to flourishing the economics of the country. On such verge, the
need for modernization and CIM is bound to occur if we aim to produce quality
goods and services with reasonable price to compete with the imported goods,
most importantly to become a self-reliant country.

I believe I will be able to venture out into various subject domains and also
develop a strong sense of independence coupled with responsibility and self-
reliance, characteristic of the international culture. It would also help me to learn
global standards in this field and become aware of the worldwide competition,
which I consider would be a great help for me to make a strong contribution in the
field of Mechanical Engineering.

"Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others." This dream of automobile I
pursue powered completely by renewable energy with the latest technology can be
extremely beneficial venture to both environment and human sustainability.
Furthermore, Nepal is marching towards industrial revolution with stable
government bringing out eco-friendly policies as aforementioned favoring
probabilities of huge business hubs with foreign investments and technologies. The
government even has focused on providing employment for almost every people
stooping foreign employment in 5 years. It can provide an additional fruitful
opportunity to establish an automobile industry in Nepal, surrounded by highly
developed countries like India and China for its initial product market base.
Similarly, people all around the world have started seeking new environmentally
friendly technology to power up their vehicles. Returning back with sufficient
concepts and exposure, I hope I can work in achieving one.
Add some points about your plans after return from Canada. How Nepal
government policies will help you to fulfill your plan

To conclude, I foremost express my gratitude for this opportunity to apply for a

visa from your country and also thank you and your committee for giving time to
process my visa application. I would be extremely gratified to pursue my further
study at Memorial University. Finally, emphasizing that I have encased all the
financial, academic and other documents in support of my application, I hope that
the permission you grant will help me foster the opportunity that beholds me. Also,
I hope that my credentials are strong enough to make me worthy of study permit in
Canada. Please kindly consider my request at the earliest possible.

I declare that the particulars given above are true in every detail. I understand that
incorrect or misleading statements may result in refusal of my admission and/or
student visa application.

Sincerely,

______________
