Disposal

Part 6 – Disposal of the microtome when put out of use

Our Environmental Contribution:

The WEEE directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE = Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment; German: Elektro- und Elektronikge-
räte-Abfall) has been issued in Europe with the aim of reducing the increasing quantity of electronic scrap and electrical
and electronic devices that are no longer required in addition to disposing of them in an environmentally friendly manner.
In Germany, the directive was anchored in the 2005 Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), that not only for-
med the basis for the implementation of the WEEE directive, but also for the RoHS (Limitation of Certain Dangerous Subs-
tances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

We, pfm medical ag, feel responsible for our products, from the initial idea to their disposal and see the situations as being
an opportunity for us to make our contribution to the conserving of resources. As the manufacturer, we assume responsi-
bility for the disposal of the decommissioned equipment on your behalf.

Please take the following action in order to return the electrical device:

1. Contact us using one of the following possibilities:

By telephone +49 2236 9641-0
By email: service@pfmmedical.com
By post: pfm medical ag, Abteilung Histotechnology, Wankelstr. 60, 50996 Köln, Germany

2. Prepare the device for transportation (please only use the original packaging) and commission a freight forwarder of
your choice with the return transport of the equipment to the following address:
pfm medical ag
