1. Write a persuasive essay on the topic given below. Kindly follow the given instructions.

The topic for the essay: OTT streaming platforms should be regulated in India

Word Limit: around 500-750 words 

General Guidelines: 
Please decide your position on the given topic (agree or disagree). Brainstorm ideas in support of
your position. Include counterarguments and refute them with help of concession statements.
Substantiate your claims with specific details. Write a conclusive summary statement.

Guidelines for the organization are given below.

a) Formatting Rules: Use Times New Roman 12-point font double-spaced with 1” margins on
all sides. All text has to be left-justified. 

b) You may follow the processes discussed in the class like brainstorming, outlining, first draft,
revision, and editing.

c) Only the FINAL draft of your essay needs to be submitted as part of this document in the
space indicated below 

d) You are requested to refrain from any kind of plagiarism as it will affect your grades
for the course severely. 

Persuasive Essay Organisation Guidelines: 

Your essay should have the following elements:

a) An introductory section: This section introduces the issue and provides some background
information on it. A thesis statement that clearly states your position on the issue and
briefly discusses key arguments.

b) Body paragraph/s: Each paragraph provides a specific reason to persuade your reader.
There are facts, data, and examples to explain and support your reasons. You should
write concession statements to strengthen your arguments. You should use cohesive
devices (repeating words/ideas, reference words, transition words and phrases) to connect
your ideas across and within paragraphs.

c) Concluding Paragraph: It includes a paraphrase of your main idea, a summary of your

main arguments, and it gives your final thoughts on the issue under discussion.
