Soulmaking is defined as transforming brief moments into images or symbols to craft derived images from personal experiences expressed through art forms. The intention is to awaken and develop one's inner artist that has been dormant, and to explore imagination actively to understand humanity and appreciate life. Students are asked to take three photos with their phone showing different poses, emotions, movements and outfits, and describe themselves in 80 words.

Module 6: Soulmaking, Appropriation, and Improvisation
1. What is the concept of soulmaking?
Soulmaking is defined as “a form of transforming brief moments into images or symbols.” It deals with crafting images that are derived from a person’s experience, which are then expressed by means of different forms of art. One intention of soulmaking is awakening and developing the artist in us that has been stagnant for years. It also helps us explore and apply our imagination actively and nourish particular experience that will later allow us to understand humanity and to appreciate life.
2. Using a camera of your mobile phone, come up with 3 photos that would show different positions, varied emotions, diverse movements and outfits.
3. Write something in 80 words to describe yourself.
If I were to describe myself, I can say that I am passionate about the things that I do and I always want to discover new possibilities as it excites and drives me to do more and get the best out of it. I’m deeply fascinated by unusual stuff and ideas that most people find annoying or weird. I may be too quirky for some, but I tend to be more serious about my own ideas when I am alone.
