Illustration of Vietnamese durian orchards and packaging plants

The official list of 51 Vietnamese durian orchards and 25 packing factories was updated by the Department of
Animal and Plant Inspection of the General Administration of Customs on September 7, marking the official entry
of Vietnamese durian into the Chinese market.

Among the 51 coded plantations, there are 23 in Doi Lac, 7 in Dong Nai, 5 in Binh Phuoc, 3 in Tien Giang, 2 in
Ben Tre, 2 in Long An, 2 in Binh Thuan, 2 in Khanh Hoa, 2 in Kun Song, 1 in Dong Thap, 1 in Lam Dong and 1 in
Tay Ninh.
Among the 25 durian packaging companies, there are 10 in Tien Giang province, 4 in Tak Lak province, 3 in Ben
Tre province, 3 in Dong Nai province, 2 in Lam Dong province, 1 in Dong Thap province, 1 in Khanh Hoa
province and 1 in Hai Duong province.
It is worth noting that in the document No. 66 of 2022 issued by the General Administration of Customs, the
requirement of traceability system for orchard plant and shipment link has been added for imported Vietnamese
durian. In response to this requirement, the Chinese inspection and traceability is currently the only proven means.

Based on the use of the global traceability cloud platform, the CSCI traceability business system builds a team of
personnel through CSCI's overseas and domestic branches to verify the source of each commodity, perform
shipment control on each batch of goods imported into China, and upload all traceability information to the cloud
platform and display it through QR codes.

When importers import Vietnamese durian, they can first entrust China Certification & Inspection Group Guangxi
Co., Ltd. to conduct traceability field verification of orchards and factories, issue QR code labels after passing the
verification, and label factories according to individual products. Container number and other traceability
information.

Previously, Hoang Trung, Director of the Department of Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural
Development, faced with the situation of Vietnamese enterprises exporting durian to China with "fake" codes, said:
"The export of Vietnamese durian to China through official trade channels is the result of years of efforts by the
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Plant Protection, local communities and
enterprises. In case of impersonation or borrowing of the code, the other side will immediately deactivate the code
when they detect the violation. If there are repeated violations, the import of durian will also be stopped, which will
affect the entire durian industry in Vietnam."

The strict traceability will further restrict the supply of goods impersonated by registered durian enterprises in
Vietnam and South Africa, and play a regulatory role in the supply channel.
