SCIENCE MODULE 1: WEEK 2

What I Can Do:

#youthinaction
#disasterpreparedness

Shout-out to our beloved Mayor! As a student leader of Tagbilaran City Science

High School, I have observed the following disaster hazards located in Barangay
Poblacion Uno. These are sinkholes located along A. Torralba Street, and behind
a residence along CPG East Avenue, and near the Old Tagbilaran Airport
May I respectfully suggest the following measures to prevent future injury and
death: An awareness campaign focusing on the dangers and possible outcomes
of sinkholes, DRRM Training for the youth, and establishing a radius of safety
around these sinkholes. Also, by thorough surveying of these sinkholes to denote
the extent of these sinkholes and appropriate action of the City Disaster Risk
Reduction Management Office after finding out the extent of these sinkholes.
We may still be young but maintaining the safety in our community will pay off
since we, the youth is the hope of the nation.

Discussion of Possible Outcomes:

1. The keys to the accomplishment of my goals would be that of the
mayor offering financial support, adequate resources, manpower, and
of course teamwork of each and every person involved.
2. The overall situation may be further down the Mayor’s list of priorities.
Like in a sense where the Mayor is still focusing on the healthcare and
housing sector and the pandemic.
3. Yes and no. Not all people understand the dangers of these hazards,
because they may think they know the place more than anyone else.
But at the same time yes, some may and will understand the dangers
of these hazards because they listen to the experts.
