First Activity: Video Presentation about CTU: University 4.0

1. What salient feature of the video presentation has caught your interest and why?
=The salient feature of the video presentation that has caught my interest is how CTU actively
seek for a better agriculture through innovation research. Through the help of agricultural
research and continued testing, they discover procedures that will increase livestock and crop
yields, improve farmland productivity, reduce loss due to disease and insects, develop more
efficient equipment, and increase overall food quality. As the backbone of our society, it is
undeniable that without farmers the agricultural system of any state would collapse. This
salient feature of the video presentation caught my interest because I was amazed by how
CTU never forget our local farmers in sustainability and community development talks. They
consider how important bringing agricultural education to Cebu really is. This research is a
bigger help to farmers who are responsible for the food on our plates.

2. What message does the video express?

=The message of the video expresses the application of Four Functions that CTU promote in
community development which is in line with the realization of Industry 4.0in Cebu
Technological University. This forge a path guided by the university’s mission and mandate to
be the region’s Premier Technological University. It tackles about the CTU’s embracement of
4th industrial revolution for educational reform. Also, it talks about upskilling of students,
faculty, and those in the industry through education, research, and digital technology for the
emerging global economy. Industry 4.0 palpably aims to develop the right skills in order to
face the challenges in the industry of the future.

3. What four functions does CTU promote in terms of community development?

=The CTU is an institution of higher learning mandated to perform four functions, namely;

•INSTRUCTIONS (ensure that higher level of learning is attained by the students.)

•RESEARCH (helpful methods for the advancement of human capacity)

• EXTENSION (focused on improving the institution capability to be self-sufficient.)

•PRODUCTION (product development as a result of research enriches competition in the
international arena.)
PRACTICE

In one paragraph write a personal commitment as NSTP student in the attainment of the
university’s VMGO, accentuating NSTP goals.

I felt a variety of feelings upon entering a University. I understand as a student that duties
indicate future achievement and should be valued as such. Understanding and embracing the
school's vision, mission, goals and objectives would help me grow personally while also advancing
the organization as a whole. I must cooperate by putting the information and abilities we are
learning to use. I'll continue to educate myself in the use of technology as a vital learning tool not
just during this pandemic. I'll engage in a variety of learning activities to arm myself with necessary
competitive strategies. Science and technology will be one of my main sources of inspiration as I see
learning that is more advanced. I shall shape myself holistically to be flexible enough in dealing with
changes in education. Lastly, I will tell myself that I'm always willing to learn, to be trained and to be
empowered.

 By using their information, it aids someone in making a better decision. This raises a
person's likelihood of success in life. Consequently, education also contributes to a better quality of
life. It presents you with professional possibilities that could raise your standard of living.

Brings about stability - Nobody can ever take away from you the steadiness that
education brings to your life. You boost your chances of finding better employment possibilities and
widen your career options by being well-educated and obtaining a college degree.

Financial Security is Offered - In addition to stability, education also offers financial

security, particularly in the world of today. A strong education typically prepares you for a higher
paid career and gives you the tools you need to get there.

Essential for Equality - It must begin with education if we want to truly achieve global
equality. There would be less separation between social classes if everyone had the same access to
education. Everyone, not only those who are already wealthy, would be able to have an equal
opportunity at higher paid occupations.

Promotes independence - When it comes to independence, the value of education is

clear. If we are educated, then it is something that entirely belongs to ourselves, enabling us to rely
solely on ourselves. You'll be able to make your own decisions and be financially independent.

Bring Your Dreams to Life - You can achieve anything you can dream of. The most
effective tool you could possibly own is education, and you can achieve all of your goals with it. Of
course, there are certain exceptions depending on your goals, but in general, an education will get
you as far as your willingness to go will allow it.

An improved world - In order to keep our planet secure and make it a more peaceful
place, education is something that is not only necessary on a personal level but also on a global
level. Education helps people avoid dangerous circumstances by teaching them the difference
between right and wrong.

Confidence - Success in life mostly depends on one's ability to feel confidence in oneself.
And what better method to boost your self-assurance than via education? Your level of education is
frequently seen as evidence of your expertise, and it can give you the assurance to voice your
thoughts and express your opinions.

Included in society - Education is valued highly in today's society as a key component of

social acceptance. It is thought that education makes you a productive member of society and
might help you feel like a contributing member.
 Economic expansion on a national scale - For a society to advance economically,
education is essential. In order to consistently stay innovative, we require employees to pursue new
knowledge and research. Higher literacy rates are also associated with better economic conditions
in a nation. A population with higher levels of education has access to more work options.

Can Protect You - More than you might realize, education can protect you financially as
well as from being taken advantage of by teaching you how to read and write and teaching you
things like how to spot fake documents before you sign them.
