HAPPINESS
VOCABULARY
1. Ecstatic: very happy and excited
2. Contented: feeling or showing pleasure
3. Gleefull: happiness, excitement, or pleasure
4. Upbeat: full of hope and happiness
5. Chipper: happy and energetic
6. Mirth: laughter, humour, or happiness
7. Blithe: happy and without worry
8. Elated: extremely happy and excited, often because
something has happened or been achieved
9. Jubilant: feeling or expressing great happiness,
especially because of a success
10. Convivial: friendly and making you feel happy and
welcome

SADNESS
VOCABULARY
1. Gloomy: very happy and excited
2. Melancholy: feeling or showing pleasure
3. Downcast: happiness, excitement, or pleasure
4. Mournful: full of hope and happiness
5. Aungish: happy and energetic
6. Wistful: laughter, humour, or happiness
7. Bleak: If a situation is bleak, there is little or no
hope for the future
8. Subdued: If a person is subdued, they are not as happy
as usual or they are quieter than usual
9. Homesick: unhappy because of being away from home for a
long period
10. Angsty: often worried or unhappy, especially about
personal problems
DEPRESSION
VOCABULARY
1. Desponsecy: the quality of being unhappy, with no hope or
enthusiasm
2. Plaintive: used to describe something that sounds slightly sad
3. Lachrymose: sad or likely to cry often and easily
4. Repentance: the fact of showing that you are very sorry for
something bad you have done in the past, and wish that you had not done
it
5. Aungish: extreme unhappiness caused by physical or mental
suffering
6. Remorseful: feeling sad and guilty
7. Wretchedness: the feeling of being ill or very unhappy
8. Distress: a feeling of extreme worry, sadness, or pain
9. Glumness: quiet disappointment or sadness
10. Bitter: Someone who is bitter is angry and unhappy because they
cannot forget bad things that happened in the past

STORIES
Happiness:
I felt really joyfull when I swim to saw the whale sharks
nearby to the island called Holbox. They are really big
animals.

Sadness:
I can be very sensitive when I saw old photos of my family,
or when I remember something I feel very nostalgic.

Depression:
It started when I was not motivated to do anything, and I
feel empty all the time. But I think that in the future
I'll be fine.
