Specific areas keen to observe/learn
Throughout this placement I am keen to work with a variety of different students with differing
levels of abilities. I hope to continue to learn to appropriately differentiate to support all students’
participation in lessons, as well as the ability to run a classroom smoothly and confidently.
Professionally I am interested in learning about additional needs and how they can impact on a
student’s everyday life, learning, and how I can best support them to succeed. Within the
classroom I also enjoy developing positive relationships with students, which includes learning
about their personal interests and their lives.
Outside of study my interests include cake decorating, animals, walking, reading, and spending
time with family and friends.
I have worked as a part-time cake decorator at Frangipanis Cakes for the last 6 years. I also enjoy
volunteering for the RSPCA by participating in the RSPCA Cupcake Day to help raise money for the
cause.
On previous placements I have observed some Jolly Phonics work, worked with decodable
readers, completed Heggerty (Phonological and Phonemic Awareness) everyday with my first
class. I have also had experience with Seesaw, especially due to the brief lockdown during last
year’s placement.
On this placement I aim to fully immerse myself in the school community and contribute positively
to the school and wider community. I am willing to assist in any way that I possibly can within the
classroom and beyond.
From this placement I am hoping to have an overall positive experience in which I can learn as
much as possible to continue to develop into a successful and effective teacher. I hope to learn
about my students, personally and academically, and discover how to best support them and my
future students to learn in a safe and positive learning environment.
