This document provides notes from a geography lesson on the air for class 7 students. It includes 3 sections: 1) fill in the blank questions about the layers of the atmosphere and types of precipitation, 2) matching questions to associate types of winds with their characteristics, and 3) definitions of key terms related to air such as temperature, moisture, insolation, and climate. Students are instructed to carefully read and learn the lesson, copy the notes, and check an online video for additional information on the topic.

Some important points to remember:
The gaseous envelope around the earth's surface consisting of mixture of
gases, water vapour and tiny dust particles is called atmosphere. The atmosphere has its own weight called atmospheric pressure. Concentration of gases and other constituents of atmosphere decrease with the increase in height. Atmosphere is endless with no visible boundary.
Notes:
I: Fill in the blanks:
1. Ozone gas protects us from harmful sun’s rays.
2. The most important layer of atmosphere is troposphere. 3. Stratosphere is free from clouds. 4. As we go up the layers of the atmosphere, the pressure decreases. 5. When precipitation comes down to the earth in the liquid form, it is called rain. II. Match the Following:
1. Trade wind a) incoming solar energy
2. Loo b) seasonal wind (3) 3. Monsoon c) horizontal movement of air (4) 4. Wind d) permanent wind (1) e) Local wind (2)

1. Air: Mixture of gases that envelope the earth.
2. Temperature: The degree of hotness and coldness of the air is known as temperature. 3. Moisture: It is the water vapor present in the air. 4. Insolation: It is the solar energy intercepted by the earth. 5. Climate: It is the average weather condition of a place for a longer period of time.
