JOB PROCEDURE
Note: Carry out pre-job safety meeting prior to each treatment. Treatment must be performed according to Baker Hughes
Indonesia and Pertamina Hulu Rokan procedures for mixing and pumping cement slurry.

1 Run Centralizer Program as per Pertamina Hulu Rokan's program (API Recommendation min 70% Stand-Off).
2 When the casing is already at the bottom hole, perform mud conditioning by reducing PV & YP of the drilling mud as
low as possible (below PV & YP of spacer). Reciprocate casing while performing mud conditioning. More than 2x of
bottom-up circulation hole volume is recommended to help the mud removal properly.
3 Rig continues mud conditioning using rig pump 288 bbl Mud .
4 Rig-up Cementing Head and manifold. Use "Y" and two Hammer Valve on the rig floor to easily switch from cement line
to mud line.
5 Pressure test line up to 3500 psi for 5 minutes.
6 Pump the following:

1 DISPLACEMENT WBM 179 Bbl 5 8.5
2 DISPLACEMENT WBM 10 Bbl 3 8.5
3 DISPLACEMENT WBM 10 Bbl 1 8.5
Note: Maximum over displace is a half of shoe track volume (1.575 bbl). Bump the plug 500 psi above final pressure or based on
customer's regulation (whichever is higher), and hold for 15 minutes.

9 Bleed-off pressure and flow it back to the displacement tanks. Monitor the flow-back volume to check float shoe and
float collar.
10 If the floating equipments are leaking then, pump the flow-back volume back to the well and close the valve on the
cementing head and hold during WOC. If the floating equipments are working properly, close cementing head
manifold valve during WOC.
11 Bleed-off pressure and WOC, 500 psi of CS is recommended by BHI (please refer to PHR program for WOC time, if any).

The quantity (number of drums/tote tank) and addition of liquid retarder, fluid loss additives and dispersant should be
witnessed by the service supervisor and the operator's appointed representative
1 All complete drums/tote tanks of liquid additives should be added to the mix water with a barrel pump
2 When partial drums/tote tanks of chemicals are required, quantities should be measured with a calibrated container of
proper units.
3 For critical additives like retarder and dispersant, after the first drum/tote tank is emptied with the barrel pump each
consecutive drum/tote tank after being emptied shall be drained into the first drum/tote tank. Then the content of this
first drum/tote tank shall be emptied into the mix water.
4 A final count of all drums/tote tanks added shall be taken, recorded and confirmed by the service supervisor and
company representative
5 After all required chemicals have been added to the mix water, a sample should be taken and the temperature and SG
noted (at least 5 liters)

1) Losing prime is due to air being injected to C-pump 1) Stop the pump / check the alemite tank oil level.
2) Losing prime is due to foam generation in the mix fluid 2) Check fluid level, Reduce RPM, Add Antifoam (0.5 to 1 gall / 10 bbls of mixing fluid), if it still having foam to
call town for further advise.
3) Losing prime is due to cement lumps 3) - Stop dry cement/blend delivery.
- Allow 5-10 minutes circulation and agitatin in order to break out the lumps.
- If the lumps are not broken, stop the agitator and use shovel to break out the lumps.

For 5x6toC-Pump If you loose prime on the pressurizing c-pump, switch to the make up c-pump and use the small mixing tub
only to mix the slurry and slow down your pumping rate.

1) If due to plugged delivery hose 1) - Close the discharge delivery valve on the silo.
- Blow air into the delivery hose or hosses.
- Identify the hose that is plugged.
- Replace the plugged hose and continue the job.
Bulk Delivery Problems 2) If unable to discharge cement due to plugged discharge valve 2) - Bleed off the air pressure in the silo.
- Try to blow air into the discharge valve of the plugged silo to remove any obstacles.
3) If due to not enough air pressure coming into the silo 3) It might be that the jets are plugged and you need to fill air from top side through the air valve placed on the
vent line valve.

For batch mixing slurries
- Before the mixing process is conducted, spare in the displacement tank 2 bbls of mixing fluid that can be
added later once the density is reached then complete mixing.
- Try to mix more slurry in one compartment and get the correct density, then switch to the second
If blend cement is not enough to reach density Density Slurry doesn't reach as design program compartment.
- If the density is not reached in the second compartment, pump the second ahead followed by the first one
with the right slurry density.
- Immediately contact your Base manager before taking any action.

- Immediately shutdown the defected triplex pump and switch to second triplex pump.
- Pumping volume doesn't similar between digital monitor and actual - Check what will be your new pumping rate.
- Difficult control displacement volume to get bump plug when casing
Loss prime or Cavitation of triplex pump - Check the job time you need to complete the job with the new rate.
cementing job
- Call town for decission to cut down the total slurry volume if you are not within the 2 hrs safety margin.
- Difficult to control TOC / BOC for critical remedial job

Always have spare hosses for :

- Batchmixer
Burst 4" Suction & Discharge hoses Burst hose
- Water Tank
- Silos

- Engine Broken - Visual inspection to be performed.

- Engine Burn - Assess the problem.
Excessive engine overheating
- If it can't be fixed immediately, have one of the crew member spray water on the radiater till job is
completed.

Mix Water :
Mix water :
- Difficult to control volume of mix water - Ensure to mix the dry additives using the C-Pump first.
- Before mixing the liquid additives, stop the c-pump and use only agitator for mixing liquid.
Mixing Slurry : - If there is foam, add more de-foamer.
Excessive foam generation - Difficult to control density of slurry as design program

Slurry : Slurry :
- Before starting mixing, add two gallons of de-foamer to the tub with three barrels of fresh water (not mix
- Loss Prime or Cavitation
fluid), Build up density then start job.
- If foam appears while mixing slurry, check the mix water for contamination.

- Spike of density chart

Density variation limits - Density doesn't proper as program During job, use mud scales, do not rely on NRD for verification, change silo and discuss options with company man or WSM.

- Properties slurry doesn't proper as program - Inspect delivery hoses/pipes for any leaks or blockage.
Mixing water delivery problem - Problem when mixing slurry on the mixing tank - Inspect all rig delivery system for valve leaks or bypasses.
- Inspect efficiency of rig c-pump by recirculating into the same tank.

Alemite lubrication system :
- Non Production Time (NPT) - Inspect the allemite tank several times during the job and keep at least 5 gallons extra oil standby.
Batchmixer & Tank problems
(Agitating, C-Pump failure, Hydraulic hose burst) - Equipments damage - Keep agitator at low speed as you start and increase gradually, while building up the density.
- Problem fluid transfer during cementing job - If hydraulic hose bursts, shut down the batch mixer, circulate through unit until you change the hose.

Pressure Test Procedure

An acceptable pressure test is when the pressure stabilizes at the pressure at which the test is being
conducted. If the pressure decreases from the initial test pressure and stabilizes, the pressure can be
increased to the required maximum working pressure until the pressure stabilizes. The pressure must be
held for a minimum of three (3) minutes.

Do not use gauges where the test pressure is being read on the high and low end of the gauge range.
- Avoid problem during job
- Flawless the job 9.4.1 An acceptable pressure test for 10,000 or 15,000 psi equipment must satisfy the following :
Acceptable Pressure test leaks No visible leaks. Pressure with in +/- 250 psi of required test pressure Pressure drop in 3-minute test of no
more than 250 psi.

9.4.2 An acceptable pressure test for equipment rated between 5,000 psi and 3,000 psi must satisfy the following :

No visible leaks. Initial pressure with in +/- 250 psi of required test pressure Pressure drop in 3-minute test
of no more than 150 psi.

9.4.3 An acceptable pressure test for equipment rated at 2,500 and below psi must satisfy the following :
No visible leaks. Initial pressure with in +/- 250 psi of required test pressure Pressure drop in 3-minute test
of no more than 100 psi.

- Change to another silo to verify if it is a cement batch problem.

- Difficult mixing slurry in the mixing tank or Batchmixer - If the problem persists, check the mix fluid in the rig tanks for contamination.
High viscous slurry encountered - Problem slurry transfer during cementing job - If there is contamination, contact FSM.
- If the mix water is ok, contact the FSM to add dispersant (if it is not defined as contingency in the pre-job
meeting).

if problem with bottom plug

- Cemented casing (if rupture disc not broken when bottom plug relase)
Decision to drop plug if any problems encountered if problem with top plug To be decided by Drilling Engineer / Assisten Manager / Company man (Well Site Manager).

- Contamination slurry with mud when displacement (if top plug not release)

Back up Cementing Unit - Flawless the job

Ready back up cementing unit on base or location has valid inspection, but depand on requirement of the contract.
(Double / Single Pump) - Avoid NPT due to Cementing Unit problem
Back up Equipments
- Flawless the job
(Batchmixer, Compressor, Tank, Silo, Cutting
Ready back up equipments has valid inspection, but depand on requirement of the contract.
Bottle/Cutting Pot, Iron Basket, Tool Container, - Avoid NPT due to Cementing Unit problem
hose, Chicksan, etc)

Hoses / Swivel Leaks :
- Non Production Time (NPT) Reduce rate on pump if leak is small, if it increases, tighten the connector of hose / Swivel.
- Equipments damage If leaks badly, stop pumping and replace with another hoses/swivels.
After the job, loosen the nut and make sure it's clean. Checked the latest inspection date.
Leaks
Plunger leaks :
- Reduce rate on pump if leak is small, if it increases, tighten the plunger.
- If the plunger leaks badly, stop using the pump, and continue with one triplex pump.
- After the job, loosen the nut and make sure it's clean. Plunger to be re-packed after the job.
- to much amount of slurry return to surface (if to much of over displace) - 1- Follow the guidelines for displacement in the client cementing program.
How much to "over displace"
- Difficult to predict Bottom of Cement - if the client representative decides to overdisplace, call your FSM and make sure he is informed.
- Immediately stop pumping.
- Equipment damage (Burst of equipment) - Ensure that the well hydrostatic pressures during the cement job and after the placement does not exceed
What to do if pressure limit reached - Formation damage (during job) - Company man to decide to wether to pump slowly considering TT.
- Immediately start the wash up process.
- Inform your Base Manager.
- Reduce the pumping rate to the minimum.
Loss of Returns - Formation damage - Start to increase the pumping rate gradually.
- Difficult to predict Top of Cement - If still no return, continue pumping with less rate (to be decided by Client rep.) till job is finished.
if problem with bottom plug
- Cemented casing (if rupture disc not broken when bottom plug relase)
Float Equipment Failure if problem with top plug
At the end of displacement, keep holding final pressure and close all valves on the cement head for at least 6 hrs.
- Contamination slurry with mud when displacement (if top plug not release)
- High/medium risk for personnel and equipments if start/continue job - Do not start the cement job if severe weather conditions.
Unusual Weather Conditions
- Impact for performance job - If client rep. Insist on starting the job, call and confirm with Cementing Engineer and Base Manager.
