Expository – an informative piece of writing that presents a


balanced analysis of a topic.
Ex. Going to college can be very expensive. First, college tuition and
room board can cost so much. Other expenses are more expensive.
For examples, books and materials that cost so much. Paper,
notebooks, writing utensils, and other supplies required often cost more
at the college bookstore than any other local discount department store.
The fees to attend college never seem to end.

Persuasive – to convince the reader to accept the writer’s point
