OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of:
African literature as a means of exploring forces that human beings
contend with; various reading styles vis – à-vis purposes of reading;
prosodic features that serve as carriers of meaning; ways by which
information may be organized, related, and delivered orally; and parallel
structures and cohesive devices in presenting information.

B. Performance Standards The learner transfers learning by composing
and delivering an informative speech based on a specific topic of interest
keeping in mind the proper and effective use of parallel structures and
cohesive devices and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.

C. Learning Competencies 1. Determine the meaning of words and


expressions that reflect the local culture by noting context clues.

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

III. LEARNING PROCEDURES
A. Preliminary Activities
Checking of attendance, WATCH prayer, Announcement and Reminders
(WATCH INTEGRATION)

2. Review The teacher will review the previous lesson which is context clues.
The teacher will begin the lesson proper by answering the “What I know’
activity on page 5 of the module. Then, learners match the correct answer.

B. Developmental Activities
Pre-activity: The class will be grouped into two groups. Each group will
receive set of task to furnish. The teacher will divide the class equally
according to their skills/intelligence. Students will educational needs and in
difficult circumstances will be given equal and appropriate activity suited to
their needs.

Activity 2: Citing Sources

The teacher will let the students read the paragraphs and let the students
realize how important to give credit to someone’s idea.
Let the students answer the three questions.
F1. Lecture-discussion: To deeply understand on citing sources the teacher
will discuss formats on how to cite sources correctly. Refer on Module 2 Page
8-12.
The teacher will discuss option 1-3.

3. Abstraction

The teacher will let the students answer Page 13. The teacher will check if the
students understood on how to cite sources.

4. Application

DIRECTIONS: Tell me how I wrote the sample sentences. Write it in your notebooks.
The students will exchange their notebooks and check their classmates answer.
