Learning Task # 1: Do you have an experience where you are wrongly judged by other people
around you?

Look at the following word web below, can you think of words that could associate with prejudice
and bias?

 1. Not allowing one of your classmates to join the group as he is physically disabled and is wasting
of time.

2.Teachers favor some students in the evaluation of performance tasks over others.

The first scenario shows favoritism and classified as bias. The second shows discrimination for it tells us
unfavorable opinion and pre-judges others and that’s what we call prejudice.
Bias – means a tendency to favor a person, group or thing or point of view over another, often in an
unfair way.
Example:
Female teachers give more attention to girls.
Prejudice – is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, though or
reason. It simply means pre-judge others.
Example:
It is sometimes assumed that someone who is physically disabled is also mentally disabled.

Learning Task #2 Below are statements expressing bias or prejudice. Identify which one is a
bias or a prejudice. Write the word of your answer on the space provided for.

parents, the media, or friends? Why or why not? Were these toys similar to or different from
the toy you selected?
2. Name your favorite movie from elementary school. Describe the main character of that movie.
Was it a male or a female? Were there toys available based on this character
