NARRATIVE REPORT
The first 2 weeks of classes started with psychosocial activities to prepare the minds of the
learners from the adjustments in new environment and learning tasks, thus prioritizing their socio-emotional
well-being as they transition back to in-person classes.
Students in Grade 7 took a numeracy test on the second day of classes to determine their
numeracy level. According to their results, most Grade 7 students are numerate in addition and subtraction
but non-numerate in multiplication and division. Our department has been informed of this problem or
concern and is considering possible action.
Other than Numeracy Level, a problem with the learners' pre-requisite knowledge for studying
algebra, such as their comprehension of numbers and the order of operations, was noticed/observed on
subsequent days of teaching mathematics.
POSSIBLE INTERVENTION
Before the start of each class, four operations were reviewed using flash cards and window cards
in order to address the problem with numeracy. Weekly numeracy test and 30-minute Math Drills will be
set/scheduled to determine and aid the learner’s development.
