Guidelines and Mechanics for the Math Quiz Bee

Jan. 30, 2023

1. This is a group contest. Each group is composed of 4 participants, 1 from each grade level.
2. The Math quiz covers Geometry lessons only.
3. The contest is divided into three parts, namely: Easy Round, Average Round, and Difficult
Round. The table below shows the equivalent point/s for each question and the number of
questions in each respective category.

Easy 1 10
Average 3 10
Difficult 5 10

4. Each question in any given round has corresponding time limit and type of questions.
Easy Round 10 seconds - MULTIPLE CHOICE
Average Round 20 seconds - OPEN ENDED QUESTION
Difficult Round 45 seconds – WORD PROBLEM QUESTIONS
Clincher Round 30 seconds - WORD PROBLEM QUESTIONS (for tie breaking)

5. The question will be read twice.


6. The participants can only answer the question after the Quiz Master said the word “GO” at the
end of the second reading.
7. Each group will use its own illustration board and chalk. Answers must be printed legibly on the
illustration board.
8. For multiple choices, write the letter only.
9. For open ended questions, write the complete answer
10. For Word Problem Questions, write the complete answer.
11. Wrong spelling is wrong.
12. The contest shall follow a point system of scoring.
Easy Round - 1 point
Average Round - 3 points
Difficult Round - 5 points

13. At the end of each round, the cumulative score of each group will be computed.
14. At the end of the contest, the group with the highest cumulative score shall be declared the
Champion.
15. Winners shall be awarded on the awarding ceremony.

Tie Breaking Mechanics


1. In case of a tie, 5 clincher questions will be asked worth 5 points each.
Any student caught in any act of cheating, or any form of dishonesty shall automatically be
disqualified.

Guidelines and Mechanics for MATH-BILIS (Numeracy Contest)

1. This contest is open for all BONHS students.


2. The Math-Bilis is a contest about speed and accuracy in counting.
3. The contest is divided into 5 levels namely: Addition Round, Subtraction Round, Multiplication
Round, Division Round and Mixed Operations of Integers. The table below shows the equivalent
point/s for each item and the number of questions in each respective category.

Guidelines and Mechanics for DAMATH CONTEST

1. The participants must be a bona fide student of BONHS and currently enrolled.
A. 1 representative per section for Senior High School
B. 1 representative per section for Junior High School
