• They do all kinds of immunization against
diseases for children and adults, they use this
chart for children:
2- Growthmonitoringroom:In this room they do regular
measurement of a child’s size (weight, height or length and
head circumference) and BMI from 2 months to 5 years of
age in order to document growth. The child’s size
measurements must then be plotted on a growth chart. This
is extremely important as it can detect early changes in a
child’s growth. Both growing too slowly or too fast may
indicate a nutritional or other health problem. Therefore,
growth monitoring is an essential part of primary health care
in children.
A growthchart is a size for age chart that is used to decide
whether the size of a child falls within the normal (average)
range or whether the child is larger or smaller than normal.
The size of a healthy child will increase normally with age.
Without knowing ahild’s
c age, one cannot decide whether
the size is normal or not. Therefore, accurate ages are
needed when using a growth chart.

10
They use tools to measure and document child’s growth such
as:

• Electronic baby scale for weighing children from birth until 1

year of age.

• Electronic scale from 1 to 5 years old.

• Children who can stand alone can be weighed standing on a

scale. Otherwise, the mother can be weighed alone, then the
mother and child can be weighed together and the mother’s
weight subtracted to determine the child’s weight.

• Length board for measuring height from birth to 1 year old.

• Height board for older children and adults

, then the mother
and child can be weighed together and the mother’s weight
subtracted to determine the child’s weight.
