I used to say, "Ala ayaw ko na di ko na kaya," but a friend of mine told me that if I give up before the
race even starts, or after the first lap, I'll never know what's at the end of the line. Perseverance will get
us to the top, where the view will be breathtaking. If we stop halfway, that's it; the end of the line with
no excitement for us.

MY REFLECTION ON THE POEM Hi everyone. I am

Jennifer Roma, a 2nd year
“INSIDE SUBMARINES” college student. I know college
is hard, full of struggles and
stress but always REMEMBER
that don’t give up on your
dreams no matter what happens
throughout your whole journey.
I can relate to this poem in some ways because I am also a Just TRUST the process because

isn't that simple. Our lives are always filledBY:

full of lessons, hardships, heartbreaks, joys, celebrations, and special
moments that would eventually lead us to our destination, our life's
purpose. The road will not always be smooth; in fact, we will face
numerous challenges along the way. Some of these challenges will put
our bravery, strengths, weaknesses, and faith to the test. We may
encounter obstacles along the way that will stand in the way of the
paths we are meant to take. We must overcome these obstacles in order
to continue on the right path. Sometimes these difficulties are actually
blessings in disguise, which we are unaware of at the time.

Just as the author said in the poem, 'Once I was at the equator,
trying to slice the earth in half,' this was exactly what the man had
thought. What ifs were running through his head. "What if I just let
myself be free and less miserable for a change?","What if I try to explore
and get out of this submarine just once?" He made a decision and
attempts to get up and explore. He'd set a new goal for himself. He was
prepared. But then something drew him back because someone
grabbed his hands and said, "If you do that, friend, water will fall into
the void and our submarine will have no place to dive. With that, he was
back again at the deep ocean. He was about to give up with this
scenario, and just like the submarines, we are not alone in every battle!
We've all had companions, friends, and family members who were
always there to guide, support, and accompany us through the ups and
downs of life. When we choose to give up, don't think that only you will
suffer because everyone around you will be affected because they are
always a part of your life.
