Prospective of territorial disputes settlement in Asia-Pacific in the context of Cameroon-

According to some experts effective territorial disputes settlement between Asia-Pacific
states requires special approaches. Multipartite formats like Six-Party Talks are not working
properly as parties have too different views and interests upon the issues. One more important
feature is that responsible institutions in the region are usually made in reverse order, which
means that legal framework is being created only after establishing of the institution.[1]
At the same time, territorial disputes settlement experience on the African continent
shows progress due to the flexible arbitral mechanisms. Situation upon Bakassi peninsula is an
example of effective disputed territory transition. Moreover, the barrier between new
government and local citizens was also successfully removed[2], which is important for
promoting sustainable development in the region.
