GUIDELINES IN MAKING THE PARTS OF RESEARCH

(QUALITATIVE RESEARCH)

ABSTRACT
Include here the following:
 Your research problem and objectives
 Your methods
 Your key results or arguments
 Your conclusion

An abstract is usually around 150–300 words.

INTRODUCTION

 Background of the Study


-should have at least 5 paragraphs with 5-7 sentences each
-should discuss why your problem exists
-provide at least 3 RRLs that support your problem (International, national, local)
-last paragraph should explain the why you want to conduct the study or the purpose

 Statement of the Problem


-Write 2-3 general questions that you want to answer in your study. Write an introductory statement before the questions.
 Review of Related Literature
-Provide at least 5 related literatures that talk about your topic.
-Summarize the main ideas of each RRL and provide the correct citation/source.
 Significance of the Study
-Write 4-5 beneficiaries of your study and provide 2-3 sentences of explanation for each.
 Scope and Delimitations
-Write in 2 paragraphs the scope of your study; what topic is included and exempted. Who are the people involve, and what
is the geographic area.
 Definitions of Terms
-Define at least 5 operational/important terms used in your study.

METHODOLOGY

 Research Design
-Indicate the design you use in your study and provide a brief description about it. Write in one paragraph.
 Research Instruments
-Indicate the tool you use in gathering information like interview, observation, reading documents, etc.
 Research Procedure
-Explain the sequential process of gathering information. You may use a graphic organizer here and provide short
explanations.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

-Explain in essay form the result of your thematic analysis. Divide the data by SOPs and each SOP must
be expressed in declarative form. Support your results or findings with RRLs.

CONCLUSIONS

This part may be written in 2-3 paragraphs.

RECOMMENDATIONS

List the recommendations using numbers.

REFERENCES

Use APA style of referencing. Include the URL or Link of your online sources.

APPENDICES

Include the following and label them accordingly:


 Letters (letter of consent)
 Copy of Thematic Analysis
 Pictures, graphs, tables (if there’s any)
 Documents used in study (if there’s any)
 Copy of personal data/information about participants
 All other materials used in the study
