measurement locations
The ability to track targets throughout the scan area
eliminates the need for positioning.

Laser-based height inspection

at specified locations
Detection is performed for all specified locations within
the scan area with just one device.
This eliminates the need for multiple sensors.

3
Unreliable detection with conventional sensors

Tilted targets result in unstable detection

The height of where the laser hits the
target will vary if the target is tilted or if the
target itself is different. This can result in
unstable detection.

Presence check of transmission case component

Variations in position and orientation results in

incorrect detection
Variations in target position and orientation
can cause the spot where the laser hits
the target to change, resulting in incorrect
detection.

Height difference check of metal processed parts

Insufficient space for mounting multiple sensors

Detection of multiple points at the same
time requires multiple sensors to be
mounted, but securing enough space to
do so is not always possible.

Chip seating check

4
Stable Detection with the IX-H

Tilt adjustment allows for stable detection even with

tilted targets
The ability to check for height differences
with just one device ensures stable
detection even if the reference shifts.

Presence check of transmission case component

Position Adjustment tool tracks misaligned targets

The camera follows the position,
orientation, and placement of the target,
making it possible to identify the target
location for every target.

Height difference check of metal processed parts

Less required space with single-device functionality

The IX-H is capable of checking for height
differences between multiple locations all
at once with only a single device.

5
Unreliable detection with conventional vision sensors

Glare or lighting changes result in unstable detection

Detection may not be stable if the imaging
conditions change due to glare or
influence from ambient light.

Bolt presence check

Low contrast targets result in difficult detection

For targets with similar colors or materials,
the difference between light and shadow
is not so evident, which can result in
unstable detection.

Presence check of black non-woven fabric

Presence checks may be possible, but seating checks

are not
Checking whether multiple components
are present is possible, but detecting
whether those components are seated
properly is not always possible.

6
Stable Detection with the IX-H

Laser-based inspection is resistant to changes of

lighting conditions
Because detection is based on height,
stability can be ensured regardless of the
imaging conditions.

Bolt presence check

Target contrast does not matter

Height-based detection ensures stable
results even when there is low contrast
between the target and background.

Presence check of black non-woven fabric

Detection based on height makes it
possible to check not only for presence
but also for improper seating.

Height

The IX-H checks the height of a target. Thanks to an

intuitive design, all a user must do is simply touch the
point on the control panel where the height check
should be performed.

Step

The IX-H checks the height difference between two

specified points. This continuous calculation of height
difference enables stable detection even if the overall
height of the target changes.

Average Height NEW

The IX-H uses the average height of a specified area

for inspection. Even for small, thin, or complex-
shaped targets, stable detection is ensured.

10
• For detection of targets on a laser line
Line mode • Used for stationary and moving targets.

Step

The IX-H checks the height difference between two

specified points on a laser line. This tool allows for
faster height difference checks because only a single
laser line is used.

Edge Position NEW

By using a line-shaped laser, height differences are

recognized as edges for determining positions. This
makes detection possible even when the target is in
motion.

Width/Diameter NEW

A line-shaped laser is used to determine widths and

diameters from two different edges. This makes
detection possible even when the target is in motion.

Stable detection is possible without changing the position or orientation of the

target. This real-time position correction eliminates the need for a jig or fixture
to make the inspection repeatable, saving time and money.

With conventional sensors, targets need to be positioned with guides and positioning pins.
With the IX-H, however, inspection is possible for a specified location even if the target position varies.
This helps reduce the total cost of equipment required.

In recent years, the variety of manufactured products has increased, and additional equipment costs for the necessary jigs and sensors

The IX-H addresses this problem with the ability to register multiple settings programs with a single device, meaning the addition of new
models can be handled without having to add new sensors, thereby reducing the total cost of equipment.

Stable detection is difficult with conventional non-contact sensors because of irregular laser reflections caused by the screw heads.
Meanwhile, detection takes time with contact sensors, increasing the required takt time.
The IX-H uses an algorithm that ignores diffuse reflections to ensure stable detection even without coming into contact with the target.

(estimated) required for edge detection of each model at the reference distance are as follows. IX-055: 0.8 mm 0.03", IX-080: 1.0 mm 0.04", IX-150: 2 mm 0.08", IX-360: 4 mm 0.16", IX-360W: 4 mm 0.16" *9 At the reference distance from the target. The F.S.
for each model are as follows. IX-055: ±10 mm ±0.39", IX-080: ±18 mm ±0.71", IX-150: ±50 mm ±1.97", IX-360: ±80 mm ±3.15", IX-360W: ±80 mm ±3.15" *10 With metal mounting. *11 Using the default settings with a laser light source as the target.
