Inquiry Task Rocks

Objectives:

• To pick 10 rocks at seashore

• To identify the rocks if it is Metamorphic, sedimentary or igneous rocks.
• To identify if it is coursed grained or fine grained
• To identify if it has a light and dark bands
• To identify if the rocks can scratch by a knife blade or not.

Theory:

• To identify those rocks if it is metamorphic, sedimentary or igneous rocks present at seashore.

• We must classify and identify the rocks properly.
• In seashore we can find and see the three different types of rocks.

Procedure:

1. Go inside and collect ten rock samples from a specific site (river, seashore, or mountainside).
2. Video yourself collecting a rock. Act like a vlogger and present to your viewers the collection site
and the rocks you collected. The video should not exceed 3 minutes.
3. Picture your rocks
4. Use Canva app to make your own layout about those rocks.
5. Indicate Rocks from 1-10
6. Classify it if it is metamorphic, sedimentary or igneous rock.
7. Indicate where did you picked it (the site).
8. Give all the detailed description: (coursed-grained or fine-grained) (Can a knife blade scratch the
rock?) (Does it have light and dark minerals?).

Data & Analysis:

Analysis:
 The picture charts show the 3 three different types of rocks. It indicates here the type of rocks,
number of given rocks, the classification, collection sites and the details descriptions.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, we need to act like a vlogger and present it to your viewers. I therefore conclude that I
have 4 metamorphic rocks, 3 sedimentary and 3 igneous rocks.
