SYSTEM PLATFORMS

Desktop Systems
- system that consists of a hardware device and an operating system that an application, program or process
runs upon. An example of a computer platform is a desktop computer with Microsoft Windows installed on
it.

Mobile Systems
- is a computing system with mobile entities. These entities can be either software or hardware
- (software) that allows smartphones, tablet PCs (personal computers) and other devices to run applications
and programs

I've just mentioned about a desktop computer having a MWs installed on it, desktop is a hardware device
and Windows is an operating system.

Application programs
- a comprehensive, self-contained program that performs a particular function directly for the user.
- Some of the common application programs include Email, web browsers, gaming software, word
processors, graphics software, media player etc. All of these programs provide an application to the end
users, so they are known as application programs.
- Application programs help the end-users perform single or multiple tasks.
- And take note, an application program is also known as an application or application software.

End User
- the person who actually uses a particular product

Web Browser
- (also referred to as an Internet browser or simply a browser) is application software for accessing the
World Wide Web or a local website.
- it takes you anywhere on the internet. It retrieves information from other parts of the web and displays it on
your desktop or mobile device
- Common web browsers include Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and
Apple Safari

Web Sites
- is a collection of web pages and related content that is identified by a common domain name and published
on at least one web server.
- Examples of notable websites are Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Wikipedia

Mobile Device
- is typically a small hand-held device that has a display screen with touch input and/or a QWERTY
keyboard and may provide users with telephony capabilities.

operating systems like macOS, Linux, Android and Microsoft Windows, computational science software,
game engines, search engines, industrial automation, and software as a service application.

Mobile Application
- most commonly referred to as an app, is a type of application software designed to run on a mobile device,
such as a smartphone or tablet computer. Mobile applications frequently serve to provide users with similar
services to those accessed on PCs.
