A home of your own?
A home of their own is what most people in the UK aspire to these days. However,
more and more of our older population are finding it difficult to stay in their own homes
as the health problems associated with increased age sometimes make it impossible
for them to cope in badly designed houses.
The elderly cannot climb the stairs and if they use wheelchairs, there are often
problems getting from one room to another because of narrow doorways, let alone
trying to manoeuvre their chairs up and down outdoor steps. [1 _______] All too often
the help that could allow them to remain in their own homes at the end of their lives is
not available and these people are forced to move into care homes. Here, their needs
are catered for but they often feel isolated and away from familiar surroundings and
their friends and family.
In an effort to address this problem the UK government has announced plans that
seem, on the surface, to be fairly dramatic. [2 _______] There will be sixteen such
specifications and they include improvements that could significantly affect life
positively for the elderly. Stairs will have to be wide enough to accommodate stair lifts
should the installation of one become necessary. [3 _______] Electrical sockets and
switches in walls must be at a convenient height and all rooms must be large enough
for wheelchairs to turn in circles. These are only a few examples of what architects and
builders will have to take into consideration in the future.
[4 _______] The general idea has been welcomed by many care groups but the
practicalities are causing concern in many quarters. Not least among those who are
worried about the cost of providing new housing. [5 _______] Members of the House
Builders Association feel that the plans have not been carefully thought through and
that implementing such specifications, although theoretically laudable, is simply not
realistic.
It is also felt that people have different housing needs at different stages of their lives
and forcing all new homes to be built with the elderly in mind is not going to be a
popular move. Debate on the subject will no doubt continue for a long time yet!

Write an essay with the title: You can never have too much money. Use the writing
guide to help you.

Paragraph 1: Introduce the topic and say what you understand by the statement.

Paragraph 2: Outline points that agree with the statement.

Paragraph 3: Outline points against the statement.

Paragraph 4: Summarise and give your opinion.
Trả lời:
What do you think when someone told you that "You can never have too much
money"? You may have a lot of thinking through your mind and you start remembering
your own experience about having too much money or not in your part of life. The
same to me. In my opinion, the sentence " You can never have too much money" has
so many meanings, both in good and bad intentions.

Defines "too much", we are human beings who never knows how much is enough, we
keep making money, keep going on the way to the prosperous and wealthy, even with
the newspaper tycoons, money is never be enough, they're always ready to do
everything to make more money while destroying the nature, forest, environment and
killing people. I agree with that point, "You can never have too much money" because
you're never pleased with your present, how much money do you have.

It's hard to say that the title is totally true because we still have so many things in the
world that need to use money, such as medical research, science developments,
natural recovery, education,... We truly have to earn a lot of money to save the world
and make money back from those works. In this point, it's no matter how much money
you can earn, it's all about how many people you can save, how many things you can
do for the Earth, for the children, for those who need to be cured from their sickness.

At the end of the day, you have to choose which ways do you want to live. The
dedicated person or the money person. Think about it, you can never have too much
money but you earn happy moments in your life, you can be yourself, do what you
want and no harm to other creatures. What about you?

You can never have too much money

People say that you can never have too much money. But is it true that you can never
have too much money? Is too much money a bad or a good thing? You can never have
too much money. It means you can’t have too much of something. Regardless of how
much people have, they always want more. People always want more than they have.
With money people become greedy, they just want to earn much more. Everyone thinks
about their lack of money, especially now. Even someone who has a few million dollars
will continue to feel poor. Having too much money can sometimes lead to boredom
because there are no challenges in your life. In my opinion having too much money is a
bad and a good thing. It is bad because many people forget how to respect people and
be grateful in life. They take everything in life for granted and even feel superior. They
forget what is right and wrong. In many cases having too much of anything can be bad.
For example kindness can make you vulnerable. But it doesn’t mean that kindness is
bad. The usage makes it good or bad. But having a lot of money is also a good thing
because it can be donated to charity or it can help people reach their dreams. To sum
up, I would say that money can do amazing things to people. It can either make you
tight-fisted or generous. Money can change people and our world.
