Element from CPAST Goal (must have a minimum of 2 goals) with Details/Action Plan

Learning Target and Goal: My goal is to make sure my learning target for my
Directions
subjects are on the board/written with the students
consistently, so they have it to refer to.

Action Plan: I am going to start making more of an effort to

put my learning target down, so it is assessable for the
students to use throughout the lesson. It will also give them a
better idea on what they are going to learn throughout the day.
Teachers have I can statements set up in their classroom as
their schedule and I felt that it is very engaging for the
students. I would like to do something like this when I have my
own classroom but for now I plan on using the back board for
the subjects and learning targets.

Feedback to Learners Goal: My goal is to make sure I give feedback to my

students weekly if not every couple of days. This is
conferencing or small group work.

Action Plan:
I would like to make more of an effort with the way I give
feedback. Conferencing will become frequent during
reader’s workshop. I think maybe during the OnTrack
time pulling kids with their work and looking at their
strengths and needs. Giving them one or two things to
work on that week and going from there. Maybe during
weekend buzz time I could do that too, especially to help
with writing goals that would make a huge difference.

Checking for Understanding Goal: My goal is to provide more check for understanding
& Adjusting Instruction
in my classroom by using exit slips more frequently.
through Formative Assess.
Having them do 2-3 times a week in different subjects
could help me see better what they are grasping and what
they are not.

Action Plan: During my second observation I used this

method as a chance for me to see how they understood
their lesson. I would like to incorporate more of these
tickets to see growth and improvement on day-to-day
instruction especially for math. My plan is to do this 2-3
times a week and keep them to see growth.
