Understanding Mia Adair

A Short Story

by unknown

Mia Adair was thinking about Storm Mintz again. Storm was an adorable coward
with beautiful lips and handsome eyebrows.
Mia walked over to the window and reflected on her beautiful surroundings. She
had always loved sunny Cardiff with its pretty, pickled parks. It was a place that
encouraged her tendency to feel calm.
Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was an adorable
figure of Storm Mintz.
Mia gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was an understanding,
admirable, wine drinker with beautiful lips and charming eyebrows. Her friends saw
her as an ashamed, amused angel. Once, she had even helped a sad toddler cross
the road.
But not even an understanding person who had once helped a sad toddler cross the
road, was prepared for what Storm had in store today.
The snow flurried, making Mia relaxed. Mia grabbed an enchanted piano that had
been strewn nearby; she massaged it with her fingers.
As Mia stepped outside and Storm came closer, she could see the smile on his face.
Storm gazed with the affection of loving kittens. He said, in hushed tones, "I love
you and I want love."
Mia looked back, even more relaxed and still fingering the enchanted piano. "Storm,
I shouldn't have lied to you," she replied.
They looked at each other with happy feelings, like two careful, cats walking on the
road which had piano music playing in the background and two energetic persons
chatting to the beat.
Mia studied Storm's beautiful lips and handsome eyebrows. Eventually, she took a
deep breath. "I'm sorry," began Mia in apologetic tones, "but I don't feel the same
way, and I never will. I just don't love you Storm."
Storm looked sad, his emotions is unexplainable, he cried.
Mia could actually hear Storm's emotions shatter into a thousand pieces. Then the
adorable coward hurried away into the distance.
Not even a glass of wine would calm Mia's nerves tonight.

Theme
This story tells us whether the writer wants us to know that life is not all about
giving a chance. We have to change our path or run away when we are broken or
hurt. We need to accept the truth and lying can change someone. That's what the
author wants to convey through the story.
