Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

It is better for
children to grow up in the countryside than in a large city. Use specific
reasons and examples to develop your essay.

Environment is always an important factor during child’s growth and

development. In my opinion, growing up in major city offers more benefits
to children. I believe this because there are plenty educational facilities,
and because they can learn from different cultures.
To begin with, cities are full of educational and cultural venues. There a
wide variety of activities which definitely will develop the intellect of
children. For instance, my parents used to take to many cultural events
as a kid. Most of them were music presentations and there I got
interested in learning how to play the guitar. When I master the guitar my
willing of learning did not stopped there and I learnt how to play the piano
as well. If my parents would not have taken me to those festivals, I would
not learn how to play those instruments and my personal development
would have been limited to the academic.
Secondly, cities house many different people and allow them to meet.
Within a big city, a great amount of the people who lives there are from
different places, sometimes from the same country or even from a
different one. Because of job opportunities or for studying, people tend to
migrate to larger cities, this causes that these cities become a vast
cosmopolitan area where people can get to know different cultures,
realities enriching their own lives. My personal experience is a compelling
experience of this. When I was 12, a Chinese family moved to the house
next to mine. I befriended with a girl close to my age and up to now we
are still friends, she taught me as much of her culture as I did of mine.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that living in a large city is more
advantageous for children than living in the countryside. This is because
in large cities children have more opportunities to find educational and
cultural incentives and the rich variety of culture there can help them to
gain total novel experiencies.
