Your friend has decided to switch careers, but isn’t sure which to choose.

What advice would you give them? Provide reasons and examples to support
your response.
Science and technology have been evolving and developing over the last decades.
These imminent changes make people think about their current situation. If my
friend were thinking in changing his career, I would advise him about looking for
current job opportunities and the knowledge he would need to have.
To begin with, changing into a new career should consider the actual job market.
The current state of the job market is really important to consider, it is not worth it if
the career we want to switch to has no future. For example, my aunt thought about
quitting her job as secretary a few years ago. She heard about a new branch of
marketing which was really profitable. She quit her job and started preparing in this
new career, but when she finally looked for job, she discovered that no one was
hiring on that. If she had done some research about the job opportunities, she
would have made a better decision.
Secondly, it is important whether or not the new career is related to our former
knowledge. If this new career is far from the one, which we used to practice, it is
most likely that we are going to need more preparation. It could take some extra
classes or even a new degree in a university. My personal experience is a
compelling example of this. When I wanted to do a major, I tried to change
drastically my career. I just finished studying electrical engineering, but for my
major I wanted something related to data science. Most universities requirements
were a strong knowledge in statics, which I was not familiar enough. If I had not
done some research, I would not have realized that I needed extra preparation for
changing my field of study.
In conclusion, as science and technology continue evolving, people will continue to
adapt and switching careers is one of the ways it can be done. If someone I know
would be needing advice about it, I would tell them that the most important aspects
to consider are job opportunities and knowledge required. If they take these
advices into consideration, they will be able to make a better decision.
Describe an annual day in your country when you give people special gifts.

One of the most important festivities in my country is Christmas. It is not only

important in Ecuador but also around the globe. It is celebrated on December 25th
especially by Christian people because it represents the birth of Jesus Christ.
Christmas is a festivity both commercial and religious. Most people around the
glove take this date as an opportunity to gather with their families and do a lot of
activities such as parties, exchange of gifts, family dinners, travels, etc. It is
intended to reunite people and remember the importance of family. However, it is
not the only purpose people gave to this celebration. Most companies try to take
advantage of this celebration to sell their products. They try to sell the modal that if
you give more presents to your family, the happier they will be.
Regardless the effort that industries put on making this celebration as something
merely commercial, people do not forget the true meaning of Christmas. In my
country, specially about this holiday, there are people who volunteer in shelters for
poor people. They spent their free time helping others. For instance, the last
Christmas my family bought candies, cookies and some toys in order to make
some presents for children who cannot enjoy this holiday. This selfless behavior is
not unique of my country, but it is really common around the world.
Furthermore, some people can say that the main event in this holiday is the family
dinner. In my country, the main dish for Christmas is turkey. It is really important
because it is capable of gathering most of the family. In my case, my brother is
married and he has his own family. Therefore, since the last 5 years, both families
come together in this holiday, which has made this day even more special because
there are more people to celebrate with.
In conclusion, Christmas is a holiday about people and the importance to make
meaningful connections among those who we love. Besides, this special day gives
us the opportunity to make some good in the community by helping the more
needed people with simple actions.
